    Abstract: A method for operating computing devices (CDs) to display an electronic document (ED), including: obtaining, by a first CD having a first touchscreen, a first plurality of screen coordinates associated with a first portion of a first gesture performed by a user; obtaining, by the first CD and from a second CD having a second touchscreen, a second plurality of screen coordinates associated with a second portion of the first gesture performed by the user; determining, by the first CD and based on the first plurality of screen coordinates and the second plurality of screen coordinates, an alignment of the first touchscreen and the second touchscreen; and displaying, by the first CD and based on the alignment, a first segment of the ED on the first touchscreen, where the second CD displays a second segment of the ED on the second touchscreen while the first segment is displayed.

    Abstract: A method, system and non-transitory computer readable medium are disclosed for recognizing gestures, the method includes capturing at least one three-dimensional (3D) video stream of data on a subject; extracting a time-series of skeletal data from the at least one 3D video stream of data; isolating a plurality of points of abrupt content change called temporal cuts, the plurality of temporal cuts defining a set of non-overlapping adjacent segments partitioning the time-series of skeletal data; identifying among the plurality of temporal cuts, temporal cuts of the time-series of skeletal data having a positive acceleration; and classifying each of the one or more pair of consecutive cuts with the positive acceleration as a gesture boundary.

    Abstract: A DNA ligand capable of structural changes upon binding to a target is used as a molecular switch with a SPFS (surface plasmon field-enhanced fluorescence spectroscopy) biosensor to realize one-step SPFS biosensing with rapid turnaround time. The SPFS biosensor has a thin metal film on a prism; when a light of a certain wavelength irradiates on the prism at a certain angle, a strong electrical field is generated at the surface of the metal film. The DNA is immobilized on the metal film surface with its free terminal modified with a fluorescent marker. Without the target, the DNA is folded and the fluorescent marker is located in the region of metal quenching near the metal surface. Upon binding to the target, the DNA is extended and the fluorescent marker is located in the region of enhanced electric field near the metal surface and emits a strong fluorescent signal.

    Abstract: A method and related apparatus for processing print jobs, which automatically edits both the document to be printed and the job ticket based on a state or content of the document itself, without user intervention, to achieve certain printing effects such as inserting tab sheets of slip sheets, removing pages, inserting annotations, changing finishing settings, etc. In one specific example, by checking whether each page includes a specific key phrase or is associated with a specific bookmark, the document and the job ticket are automatically edited so that a tab sheet or slip sheet is inserted at a corresponding position. A program is also provided to emulate the result of the editing the print job and original document.
