Abstract:
An electrical contact including a head, a tail including an opposing pair of major surfaces and a hole, a body connected at one end thereof to the head and at another end thereof to the tail, a peg arranged adjacent to the hole and to extend perpendicular or substantially perpendicular to one of the opposing pair of major surfaces and including at least one beveled side, and a solder member attached to the tail such that the peg creates and fits in a protrusion in a surface of the solder member when the solder member is attached to the tail, such that a portion of the solder member extends into the hole, and such that the solder member engages the at least one beveled side of the peg.
Abstract:
A socket that electrically connects a memory drive unit to a circuit board includes a socket housing including a base portion having a slot disposed in a central portion therein, sidewalls extending upward from the base portion, and end walls extending upward from the base portion and between the sidewalls, and a locking member arranged to engage a locking structure of a memory drive unit when a memory drive unit is inserted into the memory drive socket. The slot includes a plurality of contacts disposed therein which are arranged to engage corresponding contact pads of the memory drive unit. A bottom surface of the base portion includes at least one pin arranged to engage a through hole of a circuit board. The locking member includes at least one pin disposed at a lower end portion thereof and arranged to be secured to the circuit board.
Abstract:
An edge mount electrical connector assembly includes a flexible circuit having a first end for connecting to one major surface of the circuit board and a second end for connecting to another major surface of the circuit board, and an electrical connector connected to the flexible circuit in between the first and the second ends of the flexible circuit.
Abstract:
An electrical connector includes a housing, a plurality of contact pins, and at least one shield plane provided on the outside of the housing. Some of the contact pins are electrically connected to the at least one shield plane to define shield contact pins and some of the contact pins are not electrically connected to the at least one shield plane to define signal contact pins. In one embodiment, the shield plate includes deformable finger portions to be pressed against selected contact pins. In another embodiment, the contacts include shield engaging contact arms, some of which are to be removed while others remain. The removal may be performed while the contacts are on a carrier strip.
Abstract:
An electrical connector includes a connector body, a plurality of cores and a plurality of electrically conductive contacts disposed in the cores of the connector body. Each of the contacts includes a fusible member attached thereto. Each of the fusible members includes an intermediate portion and two support members disposed on opposite sides of the intermediate portion. The support members are arranged to hang down below a tail portion of the contacts.
Abstract:
A customizably configurable electrical connector for electrically connecting a plurality of electrically conducting members through at least one electrically conducting ground plate. The ground plate is defined by a plurality of substantially parallel elongated, bendable fingers. Each finger is spaced from every other finger in the ground plate and may be independently bent toward the electrically conducting members to make electrical contact therewith. Preferably, the electrical connector includes a pair of ground plates oriented substantially in parallel, such that the fingers of each ground plate may be bent inwardly towards the opposite ground plate to both electrically and mechanically secure an electrically conducting member therebetween.
