摘要: A bandaging material in the form of a linear structure. The material comprises a first layer formed by a composite containing a thermoplastic polymer selected from the group of polymers and mixtures thereof, and a woody material derived from platy or granular wood particles having a minimum average size in one dimension of 0.1 mm. The material further comprises a second layer of a textile material having a first and a second surface. The first layer is superposed on said second layer in such a way that said first layer is essentially attached only to the first surface of said second layer. In this way, a bandaging material is obtained which has a suitably small self-adhesion which allows for it being coiled to a roll without force during manufacturing process. The bandaging material can further be uncoiled smoothly by hand followed by subsequent applying of it around limb at application temperature without delamination.

摘要: A composite material 10 for forming custom fitted orthopedic and other products. The composite material is easily formable when heated to temperatures of about two hundred degrees Fahrenheit for a time of at least six to eight minutes and then is rigid at temperatures of about one hundred thirty degrees. The composite material can be sewn and formed in complex shapes when initially heated to about two hundred degrees. Closure attachments 60 can be secured to the composite material as needed on site rather than at the manufacturing facility. The composite material can be custom fitted to a patient in situ.

摘要: A surgical cast venting material comprises a waterproof, flexible substrate made of a plastics material and having first and second sides. The first side has a plurality of shallow, concave recesses distributed over the substrate and spaced-apart from one another while the second side has a plurality of protrusions distributed across the substrate. The substrate is perforated with a plurality of small holes distributed across its length and width. Also, a surgical cast venting device is disclosed for venting a bent region of a patient's limb. It has a flexible, central portion that can cover a major part of the bent region of the limb including opposite side surfaces and a front or rear surface. The device also has flexible connecting straps extending from two corners of the central portion.

摘要: Disclosed herein is a collapsible, convertible, extendable, traction-providing, portable stretcher/body splint type rescue device for use generally in emergency rescue field situations and having three main parts: a top or head portion, a middle or body portion, and an optional bottom or foot portion, all of which are formed from radiolucent material. The rescue device of the present invention further includes a head gear portion that is slidably adjustable, can provide dynamic cervical traction in the field, and is positioned on, yet easily removable from, the top or head portion. There is also padding on the top and middle portions which is removable, as well as a plurality of restraining devices such as webs, gores, straps and flaps to immobilize a victim on the rescue device.
