摘要: A device comprising a casing and having an initial configuration, an intermediate configuration, and a final configuration, wherein in the initial configuration the casing contains: a plurality of beads, a rupturable first container containing one or more isocyanates and a rupturable second container containing one or more polyols. In the final configuration the casing is substantially filled by a polyurethane in which the plurality of beads is embedded. In the intermediate configuration the device is transformed from the initial configuration to the final configuration by rupturing the first container and rupturing the second container so that the one or more isocyanates react with the one or more polyols in a reaction that forms the polyurethane. As the polyurethane is formed during the reaction the polyurethane surrounds the plurality of beads. The casing includes one or more vent tubes configured to allow gases formed by the reaction to escape the casing.

摘要: A surgical cast venting material comprises a waterproof, flexible substrate made of a plastics material and having first and second sides. The first side has a plurality of shallow, concave recesses distributed over the substrate and spaced-apart from one another while the second side has a plurality of protrusions distributed across the substrate. The substrate is perforated with a plurality of small holes distributed across its length and width. Also, a surgical cast venting device is disclosed for venting a bent region of a patient's limb. It has a flexible, central portion that can cover a major part of the bent region of the limb including opposite side surfaces and a front or rear surface. The device also has flexible connecting straps extending from two corners of the central portion.

摘要: Orthopedic splinting materials and methods for stabilizing an injured limb or extremity of a human or animal comprising applying a foam to the limb or extremity and allowing the foam set to sufficient rigidity, which can be in less than 60 seconds. The foam, such as a Spray Polyurethane Foam, can be sprayed directly on the skin without producing an amount of heat release that is painful or uncomfortable on the skin. Also provided is a kit for stabilizing an injured limb or extremity comprising a dispenser comprising the present foam. Further provided is situ preparation and application of a compression bandage on an injured patient in an emergency or combat situation comprising applying the present foam. A spine board and a method for making the same comprising applying the present foam to the patient's back, then contacting the foam with a board or flat surface before the foam sets.

摘要: There is disclosed a method for producing water-absorbent resin particles comprising a step that includes reversed-phase suspension polymerization of a water-soluble ethylenically unsaturated monomer in a suspension containing a surfactant that comprises a surfactant that comprises a fatty acid ester of sorbitan or sorbitol, or derivative thereof, and a hydrocarbon dispersion medium. The fatty acid ester includes a lauric acid ester and at least one kind of other ester selected from the group consisting of palmitic acid esters, stearic acid esters and behenic acid esters. The proportion of the peak area for lauric acid ester is 30-60%, based on the total peak area for fatty acid esters in the GPC chromatogram obtained from the fatty acid esters, and the proportion of the total peak area for other ester is 10-50%.

摘要: A polyurethane used for orthopedics external fixing system in complex environment is obtained by reaction of mixture of polyether polyol with modified isocyanate in the weight ratio of 1:0.6-0.75. The modified isocyanate is obtained by reaction of polyphenyl polymethylene isocyanate with polyether diol. The components and corresponding weight percents of the mixture of polyether polyol are as follows: 60-65% polyether polyol as shown by formula (I), in the formula, m is an integer of 7-15, R represents mannitol, sucrose or pentaerythritol; 0.3-1% catalyst; 0.1-2% foam stabilizer; 0.1-2% or 3-20% foaming agent; 25-40% filler and 0.5-2% functional auxiliary agent. The method of producing the polyurethane is also provided.

摘要: A splint for orthopedics for supporting the affected part of a patient suffering from a fracture or a sprain. A splint includes a support having 500˜1500 g/m2 of polyester non-woven fabric coated with a water-curable resin, an aluminum casing having a combination of polyethylene, aluminum and nylon (or polyester) in a pouch form to completely prevent the permeation of water so as to prevent the affected part from festering due to water, and a skin-protecting layer having polypropylene non-woven fabric and an outer surface layer having 200˜400 g/m2 of polyester, polypropylene or nylon, which are sequentially formed on the support. Unlike conventional splints for orthopedics which include a skin contact layer, a surface layer, and a support therebetween, the splint of the invention has a structure in which the support is directly packed with an aluminum casing, and an outer surface layer and a skin-protecting layer are provided thereon.
