摘要： A solar distillation apparatus utilizing a substantially vertical reactor assembly is disclosed. The reactor includes a tubular outer shell, a base, a cap, and a central tension member. The annular space between the outer tube and the central tension member forms the reactor chamber. Seawater or other feed liquid enters the reactor chamber through the base plate. Reflected or direct solar energy heats the feed liquid, generating low pressure vapor. The vapor exits the reactor through the cap structure or the base. The concentrate left behind settles by gravity to the bottom region of the reactor's liquid column. Extension tubes on the feed openings allow feed liquid to enter the liquid column above the concentrate layer and avoid excessive mixing of the feed liquid and the concentrate. The concentrate exits the reactor through one or more openings in the base.

摘要： The invention relates to a compact rectifying unit for separation of mixed fluids using for heat transfer purpose a fluid heat carrier and its vapours on one of the sides of heat and mass exchanging walls. In order to increase the efficiency of the heat and mass exchange process, the heat and mass exchange tubes of the rectifying part and/or of the evaporator part have means to provide irregular (varying) amounts of heat transfer between the inside and the outside of tube wall along the height of said heat and mass exchange tubes. This allows to reduce the rectification column height by 3-10 times.

摘要： Apparatus for effecting mass transfer between liquid and gas phases includes a chamber having a tube bundle therein comprised of a plurality of spiral fluted tubes maintained in upstanding relation by transverse tube sheets. Relatively short tubular inserts cooperate with the opposite ends of the spiral fluted tubes in a manner to facilitate passage of liquid downwardly through each tube in the form of a liquid film on the interior spirally fluted tube surfaces, and enable passage of gas upwardly through each tube such that the gas directly contacts the liquid film and effects mass transfer therebetween. Inlet and outlet coolant passages enable coolant to be introduced into the chamber for removing heat of absorption from the external surfaces of the tubes.

摘要： An evaporation or distillation apparatus uses one or more tubes driven to wobble about a vertical wobble axis that is aligned with the tube. A fluid distributor supplies a fluid to the inner surface of the wobbling tube at its upper end. A flexible whip rod located at least in part within the tube slides around over the inner surface as the tube wobbles. The pressure generated between the wobbling whip rod and the tube spreads the incoming fluid stream into a very thin film having a uniform thickness over the entire length of the tube. In the preferred form the whip rod is anchored at its lower end to a stationary base and is restrained against rotation about its own longitudinal axis, but is sufficiently flexible at its lower end to act as a universal joint. In this preferred form the whip rod has a flexible core surrounded by at least one length of tubular sheathing. The anchor point is preferably centered on either the wobble axis or, where the base is a container wall that moves in unison with the tube, the center of the tube. In the latter form, a fluid distributor mounted on the container above the tube distributes fluid to the tube using the centrifugal force of the wobbling motion to direct the fluid inlet stream. In another embodiment the whip rod is hollow and conducts the fluid to its upper end where the rapid, circular motion of the whip rod distributes the fluid to the inner surface of the tube where it then flows downwardly along the contact line between the whip rod and the tube.

In the initial zone 10 the vapors pass through trickle passages having a hydraulic equivalent diameter greater than the hydraulic equivalent diameter in the final zone 22.The working pressure in the top of the falling film column 10 is maintained below 2.0 mbar, and in the bottom of the falling film column 22 it is maintained by at most 1.6 mbar in excess of that in the falling film column 10. The accumulation of any significant liquid content in the bottoms of the serially operating zones is avoided. Stripping steam is supplied in an amount of 2 to 10 kg of steam per 100 kg of charged liquid.
