Abstract:
The objective of this invention is to provide a pump dispenser transmitting precisely the trigger motion and enabling stable operation of a piston section. As a means to achieve this objective, a manual operative pump dispenser A mounted on a vessel wherein the liquid contained in the cylinder section is compressed with a piston section by the displacement of a trigger structure and is ejected through the nozzle orifice, including a base body fixed on the vessel orifice via a packing structure, a cylinder section and a vent cylinder section formed in adjacent to each other on the base body, and a trigger structure including a trigger section, a second valve casing section mounted on the base body, and a trigger guide section oscillating in the vent cylinder section is provided.
Abstract:
Nozzle closures which are mounted for pivoting movement from a closed to an open position are used with a spray dispensing device. In the open position, the nozzle closure moves away from the spray nozzle on an actuator and a spray opening in a surrounding wall, allowing fluid to dispensed through the nozzle, as the actuator is depressed. In the closed position, the nozzle closure pivots into a position where a projection enters at least partially into the spray nozzle. The projection acts to seal the spray nozzle against air, thereby preventing drying of any fluid in the nozzle and reducing the chance that the spray nozzle will become clogged. The projection also serves to provide resistance against depression of the actuator, thereby providing a locking function for the actuator to prevent accidental discharge from the spray nozzle. The sealing finger completely covers a spray opening in a wall surrounding the actuator.
Abstract:
A pump spray dispenser is provided with a squeezable container normally biased to an expanded condition and defining a gas discharge opening. A housing is connected to the container. In one embodiment of the dispenser, a mixing chamber is defined in a housing and communicates with the container. A cartridge holder is defined by the housing for receiving a cartridge that contains a fluid product and that has an openable seal. A fluid product transfer passage establishes communication between the mixing chamber and cartridge when the seal is opened. A spray dispensing orifice is defined in the housing for discharging a spray mixture of the fluid product and gas from the mixing chamber.

Abstract:
The invention is particularly directed to a trigger sprayer having structure for foaming a dispensed liquid where the structure is adapted for adjustments to vary the foam pattern of the dispensed liquid to obtain an optimum foam pattern for any particular liquid, and to the incorporation of a device integral with the sprayer nozzle housing for sealing the opening of a foam dispensing passage of the foamer trigger sprayer.
Abstract:
A trigger actuated pump sprayer has a nozzle cover for sealing the discharge orifice closed against leakage by the provision of a cup-shaped element on the cover which telescopes about a nosepiece in which the orifice is formed and fluid tightly engages a seal ring extending laterally outwardly of the nosepiece in the closed position of the cover. The cover is locked in its closed position and is rendered child-resistant by the provision of at least one resilient lock pin extending through an opening in the sprayer housing requiring an inward depression of the lock pin with one hand and a flipping open of the cover with the other hand.
Abstract:
A dynamic virtual hinge closure used for controlled, reliable, and measured dispensing of a variety of substances with extensive monitoring, child-resistance and senior-friendly features. A hook dynamically engages with a slot to create a virtual hinge each time the closure is opened. The hook dynamically disengages with the slot each time the closure is closed. Monitoring is accomplished by markers position on the outer surface of the container or lid. The closure may be opened in several ways, according to the users preference or ability. The monitoring may be for dispensing of food such as spices (i.e, pour, shake, spoon), for dispensing of drugs (1st, 2nd, 3rd dose). The internal structure insures that the lid shifts into a locked, child-resistant position when closed and also that the lid is opened exactly once at each marker position. The lid is made of only one piece and requires no assembly. The closure is easily moldable, sealed on the top and side, and configured to accept a moisture/vapor seal and/or tamper-evident film.
Abstract:
A trigger pump sprayer has an external cover plate mounted on and parallel to an end wall of the pump body containing the discharge orifice for transverse sliding movement between an orifice covered position at which a first portion of the cover plate overlies the orifice and an orifice uncovered position at which a second portion of the cover having a through opening lies coaxial with the orifice. Guide tracks on said end wall supporting said plate for sliding movement are sloped toward the end wall for camming an inner surface of the first portion of the plate toward the confronting outer surface of the end wall for fluid tightly sealing the orifice closed against leakage in the covered position.
Abstract:
A trigger sprayer has a housing with an integral front component including an orifice plate to which is hinged by "living" hinges a sealing door for the orifice and a trigger lever. It includes an integral fastener on the plate for securing it to the housing. In one embodiment a vent passage is closed off by the same sealing door. In other embodiments the vent is operated by a leg integral with the trigger lever.
Abstract:
A low cost trigger sprayer has a housing with a first liquid passage containing a spinner assembly. An elastomeric pump element is positioned generally horizontally such that pulling the trigger retracts the element and releasing the trigger allows the element to extend. The sprayer includes a low cost spinner assembly and low cost valving to control the flow of liquid within the sprayer. In one aspect of the invention, the housing has front and rear sections with the rear section having a saddle portion and being hinged to the front section for pivotal movement from an open position for molding the housing to a closed position for operating the sprayer. In another aspect of the invention, the container has a rear portion which extends upwardly past the neck and defining a saddle recess, with the housing connected to the neck of the container and positioned forwardly of the upwardly extending container portion. The sprayer may include an elastomeric spring for biasing the pump element in the extended position.
