Abstract:
An apparatus for applying mortar is provided. The apparatus includes a support sled and a mixer positioned on the support sled. The mixer combines a received dry powder mortar and a liquid, and a pump positioned on the support sled and adapted to pump the mixed mortar and liquid. The apparatus further includes a spray head positioned on the support sled and adapted to receive the pumped mortar and liquid mixture and spray the mixture.

A rotary atomizer is presented comprising a rotor (8), having a plurality of insert holders (20) along the perimeter of rotor (8); and a plurality of metal foam inserts (12) placed between insert holders (20) that act as nozzles of the rotary atomizer. Rotor (8) is characterized in an assembly wherein insert holders (20) secure the position of metal foam inserts (12). Rotor (8) can be disc shaped. A protection plate (10) is fixed to a stationary shaft (1) of the atomizer to prevent physical contact with rotor (8) without obstructing the atomizer output.

Method and device for continuously producing a coherent layer of a liquid/melt of even thickness by means of centrifugal action along the entire periphery of a rotating disk (13, 113), liquid/melt being supplied to the disk around its entire axis of rotation from means (12, 112) and leaving the disk as individual droplets. The means (12, 112) distributing the liquid/melt onto the disk (13, 113) has according to the invention essentially the same speed and direction of rotation as the disk, and the liquid/melt undergoes under the influence of centrifugal action circumferentially a spreading and change in velocity across the disk (13, 113) in contact with the same.

A new method and apparatus for manufacturing powders of cemented carbide, cermets, ceramics and similar materials with good abrasive wear resistance starting from a slurry, wherein the slurry is introduced into a drop forming device including at least one essentially horizontal oriented rotating drop forming disk (12), from which the drops are slung out to solidify by centrifugal force. According to the invention the slurry is ejected from a discharge opening (21) on the drop former in the form of a jet such that it hits a first obliquely downward and inwardly directed surface (22) whereby the speed of rotation of the disk is chosen such that the jet of liquid is forced upwards over the first surface as well as over to another connected horizontal surface (23) and thereafter is ejected as a split jet against a second obliquely downwards-outwards directed surface (25) such that the slurry is accelerated to the speed of the drop forming disk (12) and then is led over a third surface (26) obliquely directed outwards, from where the drops are then caused to detach themselves and fall down, thus forming a powder.

The disclosure describes a device for separating a substantial fraction of a volatile contaminant from a contaminated fluid. The device comprises a vacuum chamber having an internal space that may be at least partially evacuated, at least one rotating plate disposed within the vacuum chamber with the edge of the rotating plate being spaced from a coalescing means, means for introducing the contaminated fluid onto the surface of the plate whereby small droplets of the contaminated fluid are centrifugally dispersed from the edge of the rotating plate. The distance between the edge of the rotating plate and the coalescing means yields a sufficient droplet residence time to permit the fraction of the volatile contaminant to be separated from the contaminated fluid as the droplets travel between the edge of the rotating plate and the coalescing means.
Abstract:
A self-propelled, floating, rotary, liquid atomizer having a feed tube and a free floating rotor operably connected at the bottom thereof. The feed tube is hollow and is affixed to the inlet line of a pressurized liquid source. This liquid source is not only atomized but serves as the motor force for the atomizer as well as lifts the rotor off its support to become free floating. A plurality of slits are formed adjacent the bottom of feed tube and they are juxtaposed a plurality of cup-like openings and holes formed in the rotor. As the liquid under pressure is passed through the feed tubes it exits from the slits at the bottom of the feed tube and impinges upon the upper edges of the cup-like openings within the rotor to cause the rotor to lift from its support coincidental to rotation thereof. This high speed rotation causes the free-floating rotor to act as a fly wheel spinning at such high speed that it increases the momentum of the liquid forcing it up and along the walls of the rotor and out through both the top and bottom of the openings therein. As the liquid reaches the openings at the top and bottom of the rotor, it is sheared into fine droplets and sprayed/atomized at 360.degree. around the rotor.

The disclosed air conditioner comprises a suction and an exhaust blower connected to a common electric motor and disposed on a suction and an exhaust passageway adjacent to a suction and an exhaust port on the outdoor side respectively. The suction passageway crosses the exhaust passageway in a heat exchanger and is connected to an indoor exhaust port. A humidifier is disposed between the heat exchanger and an indoor suction ports to humidify and cooler the sucked indoor air within the heat exchanger. Also a reclaimable dehumidifier may be disposed adjacent to the suction blower to decrease the humidity of the sucked outdoor air.
