Abstract:
The present invention relates to embossed tissue-towel paper products comprising one or more plies of tissue paper wherein at least one of the plies of tissue paper comprises a plurality of embossments wherein the at least one embossed plies have a total embossed area less than or equal to about 15% and an average embossment height of at least about 650 μm and E factor of between about 0.0150 to about 1.0000 inches4 per number of embossments.
Abstract:
A method for producing an embossed web product comprising at least two plies (V1, V3) bone to one another by gluing, wherein: at least a first of said plies is embossed producing on it a first series of protuberances (P9) and a second series of protuberances (P10), the protuberances of the first series being of greater height than the protuberances of the second series; an adhesive (C) is applied to the protuberances of said first series; the first ply is glued to the second ply (V3), the protuberances (P9, P10) of the first ply projecting inside the web product, towards the second ply (V3). The protuberances of the first and of the second series form in combination with each other complex decorative patterns (D). Each complex decorative pattern is formed by at least a protuberance of the first series and at least a protuberance of the second series. Moreover, the complex decorative patterns are distributed with a density equal to or less than 2 patterns per cm2.
Abstract:
Apparatus for embossing a multi-ply paper product, includes at least one background embossing unit, for embossing at least one ply of the multi-ply paper product and at least one decoration embossing unit for embossing the at least one ply downstream of the background embossing unit, as seen in the direction of processing, the decoration embossing unit having a decoration embossing roll and a decoration backing roll. The decoration embossing roll of the decoration embossing unit has an engraving depth larger than 1.5 mm. By this arrangement, an increased bulk of the produced multi-ply paper product can be achieved, the decoration embossing having sharp edges, which in turn leads to an improved application of dye, if dyed glue is used for laminating the plies together. To strengthen this fact, it is preferable that the decoration backing roll has a hardness larger than 60 Shore (A).
Abstract:
A method of imparting bulk and/or visual aesthetics to a tissue basesheet involves pressing the basesheet with a felt having a raised pattern on it so that the pattern becomes inherent in the sheet. A pattern is stitched into a carrier layer which is joined to a substrate to form the felt. As the basesheet is pressed into the felt, the raised pattern displaces fibers in the sheet, effectively inducing the pattern in the basesheet. The novel felt with a raised patterned layer is also disclosed.
Abstract:
For the production of a sheet product including at least two layers (V1, V2) it is suggested, among other things, an embossing device including a first pressure roller (5; 105) interacting with a first and a second embossing cylinder (1, 3; 101, 103) provided with respective points (1P, 3P; 101P, 103P) on their cylindrical surface.
Abstract:
A method for producing a multi-ply web of flexible material, such as paper and nonwoven material. At least one first ply is separately embossed by a first embossing means to form a plurality of crests and depressions and is combined with at least one second ply. After combining the first and second plies, they are brought into a nip between a spiked roll and a smooth rigid roll, the spiked roll having a plurality of protuberances which are adapted to press together the first and second plies in points or spots to cause a mechanical ply bonding between the at least two plies. The first embossing means and the spiked roll are in register with each other so that the protuberances of the spiked roll will hit at least some of the depressions of the ply facing the spiked roll. The invention also refers to a multi-ply web produced by the method.
Abstract:
The device for satinizing and embossing flat materials comprises an embossing roll and at least one mating roll, said rolls being connected to a driving system and adapted to be driven individually or in common and to be resiliently pressed against one another while the individual teeth are flattened, and the embossing teeth being designed such as to produce in the corresponding locations of said flat material during its passage embossed marks whose appearance varies according to the viewing angle of the observer and/or the kind and/or the position of the lighting source, the embossing teeth which produce said variable marks having a different geometrical shape and/or surface than the satinizing teeth intended for satinizing. To this end, the surfaces of said embossing teeth and/or portions of the tooth space bottom are provided with microstructures. These microstructures allow producing largely forgery-proof marks which may furthermore provide a very decorative effect.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for embossing and/or glazing films. Said device comprises at least one first and one second embossing roll, through which the flat material can be fed under pressure, in order to create a pattern. At least one additional embossing roll (4) is connected downstream of the second embossing roll (3), said additional embossing roll interacting with the first (2) or preceding (3) embossing roll. The patterned flat material (6) can be fed between these embossing rolls, in order to be embossed again with essentially the same pattern. In a simplified embodiment, only a total of two rolls (2, 4) is used. In order to achieve as precise an embossing as possible, with special effects, the first driven embossing roll (2) is provided with teeth (8), while at least one other embossing roll (3, 4, 20) comprises rings (10) or longitudinal ribs (12), or is smooth.
Abstract:
An embossing device for embossing a single-ply or multi-ply web of tissue paper includes a first steel roll with embossing protuberances on its peripheral surface and a second roll with a yielding layer on its peripheral surface. The second roll cooperates with the steel roll so as to form an embossing nip therewith. The steel roll and the second roll run in synchronization. The second roll has individual zones on its peripheral surface with a higher overall thickness and/or different material characteristics of the yielding layer compared to that of the remaining peripheral surface. These individual zones are opposed in the embossing nip to embossing protuberances of the steel roll.
Abstract:
Method for producing a multi-ply web comprising at least three plies of flexible material, such as paper and nonwoven material and a multi-ply product produced according to the method. A first and second ply are glued together with a first glue pattern and a second and third ply are glued together with a second glue pattern which is applied offset with respect to the first glue pattern.
