Abstract:
The invention concerns a process for producing corrugated board, wherein a biopolymer latex adhesive is used as the corrugating adhesive. The biopolymer latex adhesive can be obtained by extruding a plasticized biopolymer, especially starch, in the presence of a crosslinking agent such as glyoxal. The preparation of the latex adhesive and its application in corrugating operation do not require a gelatinization step, nor the use of caustic soda or borax.
Abstract:
An article for reducing the drag caused by a fluid flowing over a surface comprises a backing layer having an outer, exposed patterned surface that reduces drag, and an adhesive bonding layer for bonding the backing layer to the surface of a substrate, the article being free of a reinforcing layer.

Abstract of the Disclosure A flexible composite with integral flights is provided and methods for making the same. The composite is made from, for example, silicone rubber, urethane rubber, polytetrafluoroethylene or other polymer. The composites are useful for making articles of manufacture, in particular, conveyor belts for use in high temperature food processing. The conveyor belts are an improvement over the prior art in that they prevent slippage of the articles conveyed, may be manufactured at low cost and are easy to clean.
Abstract:
There is disclosed an absorbent article including an absorbent layer and a liquid-permeable surface sheet placed on a liquid-receiving side of the absorbent layer for introducing excreted liquid from the human body to the absorbent layer. The surface sheet is of a corrugated configuration to have valleys and peaks extending in a longitudinal direction of the article and alternately arranged in a transverse direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. Each valley has a connecting part raised to connect between two adjacent peaks.
Abstract:
A corrugator unit, particularly for sheets or webs of paper, or similar, of the type comprising at least two rolls (1, 2), having a toothed or corrugated surface (101, 202), and being mutually engaged and pushed against each other by a predetermined pressure or force. The invention provides that the mutual compression between rolls (1, 2) is exerted (4, 5, 106, 21, 22, 25, 26) over the whole axial length of the rolls (1, 2). This may be obtained through mechanical (6) or magnetic (21, 22, 23, 25, 26) means.
Abstract:
A housing for a honeycomb body includes a jacket tube with an inner wall surface. The jacket tube has a passivation layer in at least one section of the inner wall surface in order to deliberately modify a connection to the honeycomb body by joining. A method for the production of a catalyst carrier body with a honeycomb body and a housing according to the invention are also indicated. A catalyst carrier body produced in this way reduces thermal stresses between the honeycomb body and the jacket tube and, in particular, ensures a reliable brazing process during production, even in a vacuum.
Abstract:
A composite reinforced plastic lumber article, such as a board or a plank having a generally rectangular cross-section, is formed by extruding a wood particle/polymer composition through an extrusion die which forms a corrugated or relatively thin sheet cross-section core part. The core part is compressed to push corrugations closer together and then cooled in a two-stage cooling process with water spray and submersion followed by vacuum and air blast drying of the article, followed by extruding an outer coating of the same composition over the core part. A continuous plank-like composite article is thus formed and is cooled after the outer coating is extruded over the core part. Opposed surfaces of the article may be embossed to provide a woodgrain appearance. The two-stage article forming process provides more rapid cooling of the material to enhance the speed of production of reinforced plastic lumber articles and the like.
Abstract:
An extensible packaging element is disclosed for positioning and cushioning an article. The extensible packaging element comprises two fasteners and a stretchable portion. The two fasteners are mounted on two ends of the packaging element so that the extensible packaging element can link with another extensible packaging element to extend the size of the extensible packaging element. Therefore, the connected extensible packaging element can suit articles of various sizes and weights. According to the invention, the cost of the molds can be decreased and the manufacturing efficiency can be improved. A stretchable packaging element is also disclosed for positioning and cushioning an article. The stretchable packaging element comprises two non-stretchable portions and a stretchable portion. The stretchable packaging element is manufactured in one size for saving the space and reducing the cost. They are used to package up articles of various sizes.
Abstract:
A color filter substrate for a liquid crystal display includes a transparent substrate, and color filters formed on the substrate each with a groove. A transparent conductive layer is deposited onto the color filters to form a common electrode. A chrome layer and a chrome oxide layer are sequentially deposited onto the common electrode to form a black matrix layer. An organic film is formed on the black matrix layer. The organic film suffers ashing such that only the portion of the organic film placed over the groove is left over, and other portions are all removed while exposing the black matrix layer. The exposed portion of the black matrix layer is removed through etching. In this way, the color filter substrate is completed in a simple manner.
Abstract:
A topsheet for an absorbent article which has an uneven profile formed on a surface thereof to be brought into contact with a wearer's skin, the uneven profile being flexibly deformable in conformity to the contour of the wearer's body and to the wearer's movement, and depressions of the uneven profile being capable of trapping high-viscosity excreta thereby separating the high-viscosity excreta from the wearer's skin while an absorbent article having the topsheet is worn.
