摘要： An inkjet printer includes a print medium cartridge arranged to store a print medium roll. The print medium roll includes a former carrying a wound length of a print medium. A platen supports the print medium during feeding from the roll. An inkjet printhead assembly is arranged in register with the platen and includes an inkjet printhead having a plurality of micro-electromechanical inkjet nozzles which can print onto the print medium supported by the platen. A print medium feed arrangement is arranged to feed the print medium from the roll and between the platen and the inkjet printhead assembly.

The print medium roll has a former carrying a length of print medium and an ink supply core which can be received within the former. An inkjet printhead prints onto the print medium and an ink transmission channel structure connected between the ink supply core and the inkjet printhead assembly to transport ink there-between. The print medium is drawn from the roll by a print medium feed arrangement that feeds the print medium past the inkjet printhead during printing.

摘要： A cradle unit for use in a print engine to receive a cartridge unit that has a printhead assembly. The cradle unit has a main body with an opening for receiving the cartridge and drive rollers for feeding sheets of media past the printhead assembly, a printed circuit board (PCB) movably mounted to the main body, the PCB having control electronics for operative control of the print engine, a cover assembly movably mounted to the main body, the cover assembly being configured for securing the cartridge in the opening and engaging the PCB such that the PCB is moved into electrical contact with the cartridge when in a closed position, and to move the PCB out of electrical connection with the cartridge when in an open position and, a maintenance assembly operated by the PCB control electronics for capping and wiping the printhead assembly.

The actuator arm comprises a slot protection barrier extending substantially orthogonally therefrom, the slot protection barrier positioned adjacent to the first side wall and spaced therefrom to define an ink holding area between the slot protection barrier and the first side wall.

The supply unit includes a housing defining a number of external protuberances for positioning tape automated bonded film, and a baffle unit positioned inside the housing to define three ink storage chambers. The unit also includes an ink manifold arranged in fluid communication with the ink storage chambers, a printhead integrated circuit arranged in fluid communication with the ink manifold, and a cover unit operatively fast with the housing. The cover unit sandwiches tape automated bonded film to the housing to arrange the printhead integrated circuit in electrical communication with the printer controller.

The ink refill unit includes a base assembly which houses internal ink refilling components and defines a plurality of outlets for docking with the cartridge unit. Each outlet corresponds to a respective type of ink with only one of the outlets working. The ink refilling components include a syringe assembly coupled in fluid communication with the working outlet. A lid assembly fits onto the base assembly to cover the ink refilling components.
