Abstract:
The invention relates to a structure for the reinforcement of pavements. The structure is provided at predetermined positions with interruptions or with weakened zones. The invention further relates to a method of manufacturing such a structure and to a method of breaking up a pavement reinforced with such a structure.
Abstract:
A paving system that uses a number of individual pavers with defined void spaces between the pavers. Each paver is made entirely out of natural wood, such as Black Locust wood. A matrix, such as a wire mesh, may be used to maintain the void spaces before and during installation. The void spaces may be filled with gravel or another permeable material. The pavers may have the form of tiles, such as cubic tiles, and may be positioned in some cases with their grain oriented vertically.
Abstract:
A track system may include a plurality of connected slat members that may form rollable tracks. The rollable tracks may be used in moving vehicles across sensitive ground. The rollable track may be deployed using various methods and/or apparatus such as, e.g., deployment apparatus including one or more spool portions for rolling and unrolling the rollable tracks.

Abstract:
Systems and methods for a permeable pavement system are described. The permeable pavement system includes blocks designed to facilitate water seepage between the blocks and to permit water storage within the blocks. The blocks may be cabled together to create paving units that facilitate installation and maintenance of the pavement system. The permeable pavement system provides improved management of stormwater, reducing runoff and facilitating infiltration of stormwater into the subgrade below the paving system.
Abstract:
A paver may include a paver body and at least two slots running through the paver body from one side to another side. The slots may be parallel to an upper surface of the paver body. The slots further may be aligned according to the paver's orientation in a larger paver pattern such that, when multiple pavers are assembled according to the pattern, the slots of individual pavers cooperate to generate extended channels throughout the pattern. Thus, the principles of the present invention permit manufacturers to assemble paver mats made of a plurality of the pavers weaved together by a plurality of fastening cables that fit within one or more extended channels. In one embodiment, a core puller may be used to create slots in the paver body.
Abstract:
A mat system includes a surface and at least first and second mat units. Each mat unit includes a respective plurality of blocks interlinked by respective cables that pass through the blocks. Each mat unit includes cable loops along at least one side section thereof. The first and second mat units are positioned on the surface in proximity to each other with cable loops of the first mat unit extending toward the second mat unit and cable loops of the second mat unit extending toward the first mat unit. A plurality of interconnecting blocks are positioned between the first mat unit and the second mat unit. Each interconnecting block includes an underside with downwardly open channels formed therein. The cable loops of the first and second mat units are positioned within the channels of the interconnecting blocks to cover the cable loops. The interconnecting blocks and the blocks forming the first and second mat units are sized, shaped and positioned such that upper surfaces thereof form a substantially continuous surface.
Abstract:
A flexible brick plate including a plurality of flexible interwoven rods forming a mesh, and a plurality of bricks provided with fastening shapes coupled to at least some of the rods in order to retain the bricks in the mesh. Optionally, the plate is designed to be placed with one side thereof against a formwork and to receive a binding agent from and on the other side thereof. The manufacturing method for includes crossing and interweaving warp rods and weft rods to form a mesh, arranging at the same time rows of bricks in the mesh between the weft rods, and coupling fastening shapes formed in the bricks with at least some of the warp or weft rods.
Abstract:
A pre-fabricated concrete slab system and method have matching rectangular slabs with cooperatively fitting male and female type connectors which fit adjacent to each other in a checkerboard fashion. The slabs include spaced reinforcing rods extending longitudinally and transversely therethrough. In at least some of the slabs, the rods' distal ends protrude outwardly away from one or more side edges of the slabs to form a plurality of male connectors. Correspondingly, at least some of the slabs include a plurality of corresponding female sockets on one or more sides thereof, each female socket receiving a corresponding male connector when dropped therein. Through interconnection of corresponding female sockets and male connectors by steel reinforcing bars extending in both the longitudinal and transverse directions, a continuous tension reinforcement is established between adjacent slabs in both the longitudinal and transverse directions.
