Abstract:
A part of an air cleaner main body overlapped with vehicle body frames in a side view has a shape in which an upper surface portion of the part is narrower than a bottom surface portion of the part. The air cleaner main body is formed to have approximately uniform gaps along inner surfaces of the vehicle body frames, and the air cleaner main body is inserted from a position below the vehicle body frames and is fixed to the vehicle body frames before mounting an engine.
Abstract:
A manifold element (210) for a filtering cartridge (200) comprising a shaped shell (215) provided with an internal volume (220) and a plurality of access ports (225, 230) communicating with said internal volume, among which a plurality of first access ports (225) and at least one second access port (230), wherein each of said first access ports (225) is adapted to be coupled with a respective filtering material element (205) so as to support it and be occluded thereby.
Abstract:
A filter arrangement for filtering the supply air of an engine, comprising a filter element with a folded filter medium, whereby the folded filter medium comprises longitudinal folds with fold walls and fold troughs, and a filter housing for receiving the filter element, whereby the filter housing comprises an upper part and a bottom part. A first insertion tongue is arranged on the upper part and a second insertion tongue is arranged on the bottom part, whereby at least one insertion tongue engages in a fold trough and whereby the insertion tongues press a fold wall between themselves is characterized in that, in regard to the problem of improving the sealing concept of the prior art and of preventing the passage of dust from the raw air side to the clean air side with a high degree of reliability, the filter element comprises side strips manufactured from a compressible material that can be compressed to at least 80% of its thickness in the unloaded state.
Abstract:
The disclosure concern air cleaners. Preferred air cleaners are shown which include a housing and a removable and replacement primary filter cartridge. Optional and advantageous features are shown. The preferred primary filter cartridge is conical in shape. A preferred optional safety or secondary filter cartridge is shown. Preferred methods of assembly and use are provided.
Abstract:
An internal combustion engine, which includes a cylinder block, a cylinder head fastened to the cylinder block, an aperture formed in a side of the cylinder head, and a conduit assembly, such as an intake runner assembly or an exhaust conduit assembly. A combustion chamber is formed by the cylinder block and the cylinder head. The intake runner assembly is received within the aperture and configured to communicate air to the combustion chamber. The intake runner assembly includes a first piece and a second piece. The first piece has a first channel that includes a bend. The second piece has a second channel that includes another bend mirroring the bend of the first channel. The first piece is coupled to the second piece such that the first and second channels together form a flow path through the intake runner assembly, and the bends of the first and second channels together form a smooth turn in the flow path.
Abstract:
A run-safe filter system is provided for confirming installation of a qualified filter element in a housing. An electrical switch has a first electrical condition in response to a qualified filter element being installed in the housing, and a second electrical condition in response to the absence of a qualified filter element installed in the housing.
Abstract:
An air cleaner arrangement or assembly is provided. The air cleaner arrangement includes a serviceable filter cartridge. The air cleaner assembly also includes an arrangement for positioning the filter cartridge into a preferred, sealing, orientation and for securing the filter cartridge in that location. Preferred serviceable filter cartridges are provided, as well as methods of assembly and use.
Abstract:
A pre-cleaner may include a plurality of spin tubes arranged side-by-side to form a row. Each spin tube may include a longitudinal axis, an inlet at a first end, and an outlet at a second end. The pre-cleaner may also include a manifold enveloping the outlets of the plurality of spin tubes and configured to receive and direct dust away from the outlets. The manifold may include a cover portion extending along and adjacent the row of spin tubes at a position along the longitudinal axis that is between the respective outlets and first ends of the spin tubes. The manifold may also include a trough extending along the row of spin tubes and defining a collection area that is arranged at a position along the longitudinal axis that is beyond the second ends of the spin tubes. A method of dust removal is also described.
Abstract:
A disposable air filter unit for filtering air intake to an internal combustion engine forms a cylindrical sleeve about a central axis, and has an outer sleeve surface for receiving unfiltered air and an inner sleeve surface for output of filtered air. The disposable air filter unit includes a pleated filter component and a bioplastic reinforcement structure arranged at the pleated filter component. An air cleaner assembly includes a disposable air filter unit and a reusable carrier structure on which the air filter unit is removably arranged. The disposable air filter unit forms a sleeve about a central axis extending axially between a first end surface and a second end surface. The reusable carrier structure includes a receiving member for receiving the first end surface of the air filter unit and a sealing member arranged at the receiving member to contact the first end surface of the air filter unit.
Abstract:
A filter element for a filter system for filtering a fluid has a filter bellows arranged about a longitudinal axis and enclosing an interior of the filter element. An end disk that is provided with an opening to the interior of the filter element is arranged at the filter bellows. The end disk has a bead that is arranged at the opening to the interior and partially surrounds the opening to the interior. The bead projects outwardly in a direction of the longitudinal axis. The filter system has a housing with a cover and a housing part closable by the cover. The filter element can be exchangeably arranged in the housing. The bead, in a mounted state of the filter element in the housing, engages a complementary receptacle arranged at an inner side of the cover.
