The actuation lever of the valve assembly manipulates four ganged valves which allow the system select between an evacuation mode wherein air is pumped from the tank through the tank port to draw fluids into the tank through the conduit, and an expulsion mode wherein air is pumped into the tank to expel fluids from the tank through the conduit.

    摘要: A tubular pump comprises a "tube-within-a-tube" having a lower end adapted to be submerged in a liquid that is under a pressure p.sub.1, for example a pressure of one atmosphere. The inner and outer tubes are in communication with each other adjacent to the submerged lower end. A pneumatic system alternately applies a pressure p.sub.2 lower than the pressure p.sub.1 to both the inner and outer tubes and a pressure p.sub.3 higher than the pressure p.sub.1 to the inner tube. A check valve mounted in the lower end of the outer tube is open when exposed to the pressure p.sub.2 to enable the liquid to flow upward into both tubes to a height h.sub.1 supported by the pressure p.sub.1 and is closed when exposed to the pressure p.sub.3 to prevent the liquid from flowing backward through the check valve. The liquid therefore flows from the inner tube upward through the outer tube in response to the pressure p.sub.3. A sump line is connected to the outer tube at a height h.sub.2 greater than the height h.sub.1. The space between the inner and outer tubes is configured so that the liquid flows upward through the space in response to the pressure p.sub.3 as an intact mass. The pump is ideally adapted, for example, to pumping out primary-side water from the lower head connected to the lower ends of steam generator tubes of a single-pass steam generator of a large power station.

    摘要: A compressed air-actuated pump includes a venturi nozzle to create a vacuum condition within a fluid-tight pump body to pump in a liquid or slurry. When a given level of liquid is pumped in, a control circuit closes a flexible sleeve of a pneumatically actuated pinch valve positioned in an exhaust passageway of the venturi nozzle. Upon closing of the pinch valve, the exhaust stream from the venturi nozzle is diverted into the pump body to create a pressurized condition therein whereby the liquid or slurry previously accumulated therein is pumped out. The pump also includes a pair of variable flow control valves for independently adjusting the flow rates of compressed air through the venturi nozzle in the vacuum, pump-in and in the pressurized, pump-out cycles. Solid state opto-electronic liquid level sensors or appropriate pneumatic, electric or electro-pneumatic timing devices are employed to signal the opening and closing of the pinch valve. The flexible sleeve of the pinch valve, as well as all other parts in the pump are constructed of chemically-resistant materials to permit the pumping of erosive, corrosive and abrasive liquids and slurries.

Means is provided for rotating said air passageway structure and openings in the upper portions of said chambers alternately communicate with said air passageway structure so that partial vacuums may be created therein so as to effect a pumping action.
