Abstract:
In a work machine, a communication system is provided, in which, when damage of disconnection or the like of a communication line occurs, desired communication is enabled without requiring manual replacement of the damaged communication line. The communication system is provided in a hydraulic excavator and comprises a vehicle body controller 12 and a monitor controller 13, serving as a first controller coupled to each of a drive-system communication line 10 and an information-system communication line 11. The communication system also comprises an engine controller 14, serving as a second controller coupled to either one of the communication lines 10 and 11. When a damaged part A develops at a portion of a drive-system communication line 10 located between the vehicle body controller 12 and the engine controller 14 and communication between the vehicle body controller 12 and the engine controller 14 becomes impracticable, the communication between the vehicle body controller 12 and the engine controller 14 is made practicable, by detouring the communication through the information and communication line 11 which has not suffered the damage, and through the monitor controller 13.
Abstract:
A hand-held device with a sensor for providing a signal indicative of a position of the hand-held device relative to an object surface enables power to the sensor at a first time interval when the hand-held device is indicated to be in a position that is stationary and adjacent relative to the object surface, enables power to the sensor at a second time interval shorter than the first time interval when the hand-held device is indicated to be in a position that is moving and adjacent relative to the object surface, and enables power to the sensor at a third time interval when the hand-held device is determined to be in a position that is removed relative to the object surface.
Abstract:
A wireless communication system comprises one or more control units operable to transmit control signals, a plurality of actuators responsive to the control signals, and a plurality of sensors operable to transmit sensor data used by the one or more control units in generating the control signals. Each of the sensors, actuators, and one or more control units are located at a fixed position in the system relative to one another. Each of the plurality of sensors and each of the plurality of actuators are coupled to at least one of the one or more control units via a plurality of wireless paths. Each of the plurality of sensors are operable to transmit the sensor data in an assigned time slot to at least one of the one or more control units over a plurality of wireless channels in each of the plurality of wireless paths. The number of channels in each of the plurality of wireless paths is determined based, at least in part, on a worst-case estimate of potential interference, and each of the plurality of sensors is operable to pseudo-randomly switch the plurality of channels over which the sensor data is transmitted.
Abstract:
System for the remote control of at least one electrical household appliance with a first transmitter/receiver and an auxiliary receiver incorporated into the electrical household appliance, and a second transmitter/receiver and an auxiliary transmitter incorporated into a remote control device that includes a screen for displaying information received by and/or transmitted from the remote control device. The system of remote control may use a primary system of short-range communication between the auxiliary transmitter and the auxiliary receiver and a secondary system of long-range communication between the first transmitter/receiver and the second transmitter/receiver, enabling a critical-parameter control command to be sent from the remote control device to the electrical household appliance via the secondary system only once the secondary system is activated, the secondary system then being bidirectional.
Abstract:
A smart portable device transmits a keyless radio signal for a keyless entry system by two frequency channels. In an integrated tuner, a control IC determines a frequency channel having a better communication state, and controls a frequency of a signal that is input to a mixer from a PLL circuit to a frequency for converting the keyless radio signal of the determined frequency channel into an intermediate frequency signal. This configuration makes it possible to share a circuit for receiving the keyless radio signals of those two frequency channels, and to receive the keyless radio signal of the frequency channel having the better communication state to surely conduct communication.
Abstract:
A device includes a sensor which generates a value representative of a position of the device relative to an object surface. The device then uses the value obtained from the sensor to automatically transition from a first state in which the input interface is enabled to a second state in which at least a portion of the input interface is inhibited.
Abstract:
The invention discloses a system for controlling household digital equipment based on wireless. The system comprises a remote device and receiving devices. The remote device sends controlling commands in wireless mode and provides at least two kinds of wireless communication modes. The receiving devices can communicate in the said wireless communication mode, can receive the controlling commands, which are sent by the remote device and can make the household digital equipment perform the controlling commands. The remote device selects the corresponding wireless communication mode according to the controlling commands and communicates with the receiving devices by the selected wireless communication mode.
Abstract:
A controlling device for operating a PC and one or more home appliances. The described controlling device has integrated mouse and remote control functions, and may be configured to automatically detect whether the controlling device is being used as a mouse or as a remote control. For effective operation in both control modes, the controlling device includes both RF and IR transmitters, and is configured to transition between these transmission mediums based on the detection of whether the controlling device is being used as a mouse or as a remote control.
Abstract:
An AM/FM modulation scheme is presented for optimizing communications between a remote control device held by a user and a receiving unit installed in a vehicle. Historically, these systems communicated with amplitude modulated signals having good range but poor immunity to ambient random radio frequency noise. Frequency modulated systems provide improved immunity to noise however at the expense of range. The object of this invention is to use two or more modulation modes to combine their advantages. A scheme has been devised whereby circuitry capable of alternately operating in at least two modes is used. The same information is therefore transmitted using two or more modulation techniques in succession. The receiving unit also has circuitry and has listening cycles ensuring eventual synchronization with the transmitting unit. If one mode fails due to distance or ambient noise, the other can then attempt to establish a link.
Abstract:
In order to control automatic working devices, especially soil compacting devices, a remote control device is provided which comprises a transmitter unit which can be actuated by a user and which is used to transmit control signals in the form of electromagnetic radiation and a receiver unit which is arranged on the working device and which outputs the received control signals in the form of electric control commands to the control unit of a working device. During operation of the working device, the transmitter unit can be connected to an external power source, which is arranged on the working device, via a cable for the supply of power thereto.
