Waveform is produced on the basis of the obtained style-of-rendition module data. The style-of-rendition module data is data representing behavior of a waveform to be produced in accordance with a style of rendition and may include data representing characteristic behavior of vectors that control the waveform to be reproduced. The behavior of the waveform can be defined by various waveform factors. The vectors include, for example, vectors of various fundamental waveform factors for producing the waveform, such as a waveform shape, pitch, amplitude and time axis.

    摘要: A time-axis compression/expansion system compresses or expands a multichannel signal at a specified compression/expansion rate. Waveform segments are sequentially cut out from each channel signal. A cutting starting point of a leading end portion of a waveform segment following each preceding waveform segment of the cut out waveform segments is determined commonly between the channel signals, based on two portions of a waveform of a synthesized signal formed by synthesizing the channel signals within a range of predetermined search parameters of the waveform of the synthesized signal. The two portions correspond to a time period over which cross-fading is to be carried out and are most similar to each other. The preceding waveform segment and the following waveform segment cut from each channel signal are spliced together by cross-fading a trailing end portion of the preceding waveform segment and the leading end portion of the following waveform segment.

When a given performance event data at a given time is to be processed in accordance with the supplied performance event data, another performance event data related to one or more events, following the given performance event data, is obtained in advance of a predetermined original time position of the other performance event daata. Control data corresponding to a rendition style module designated by at least one of the given performance event data and the other performance event data obtained in advance is generated on the basis of the given and the other performance event data, and a waveform corresponding to the designated rendition style module is synthesized on the basis of the control data. Characteristic of at least one of preceding and succeeding rendition style modules is modified on the basis of trailing end information of the preceding rendition style module and leading end information of the succeeding rendition style module. When rendition style designation data, including information designating a rendition style module and parameters for controlling the rendition style module, is lacking in a necessary parameter, the lacking parameter is filled with a predetermined standard parameter.

    摘要: Sets of waveform data of unit waveforms stored in a memory each include first and second loop waveform segments at both ends of a non-loop waveform segment and any one of the unit waveform data sets can be selectively readout from the memory. The waveform data set of a desired one of the unit waveforms is read out from the memory and is connected with another waveform preceding or following the read-out unit waveform using the first or second loop waveform segment in the read-out unit waveform. Thus, a smooth connection between the read-out unit waveform and the other waveform is achieved with ease. This is because the loop waveform can be smoothly connected with any other waveform through cross-fade synthesis or phase-matched connection technique performed at an appropriate point in the loop. With such arrangements, when a tone waveform is to be formed by reading out the loop waveform from the memory, it is possible to execute good-quality waveform formation rich in controllability and editability, taking articulation (style of rendition) of a sound into account, in a manner rich in controllability and editability.

    摘要: Small discontinuities in digital sound data caused by a pitch control operation are processed by using a secondary FIR filter and smoothing the discontinuities. When lowering the key, the data value subject to the pitch down operation is moderately approximated to that of one sampling period before over a cycle of small discontinuity occurrence. when raising the key, the data value subject to the pitch up operation is moderately approximated to the current data value over a cycle of small discontinuity occurrence. By this method, the extent of the data discontinuity is greatly reduced. Large discontinuities for every segment are also processed by cross fading two converted data sequences which are produced from the input sound data and have different timings of large discontinuity occurrence, one data value being increased from its discontinuity point while the other data value is decreased from the same point in time. The weighting coefficients for the cross fade process vary in time along an upwardly convex polygonal line or a 1/4 cycle of a sine curve, thereby reducing the extent of the large discontinuity and avoiding the offset of the overlapped two data values.

In addition, a plurality of loop reproduction cycles can be arbitrarily set when the waveform data is to be read out. In loop reproduction, two items of waveform data having different phases between the preset start and end addresses can be repeatedly read out and synthesized, and their mixing ratios can be changed as a function of time, thereby performing loop reproduction so as not to abruptly change amplitude values of the waveforms.

    摘要: A circuit for adding a resonance tone to a tone signal to be generated is provided. When a damper operator is not operated, the resonance tone is not added but an ordinary tone signal is generated. When the damper operator has been operated, the resonance tone is added so that a tone signal including the resonance tone is generated. An effect of a damper operator, i.e., loud pedal, in a piano, a natural musical instrument, is thereby simulated with high fidelity. The resonance tone may be produced by passing an ordinary tone signal through a filter. Alternatively, data obtained by sampling an actually produced tone of a piano, a natural musical instrument, when a damper operator, i.e., loud pedal, is ON may be stored in a memory and a resonance tone may be generated by reading out the stored data from the memory. The signal of the generated resonance tone may be sounded by itself or after mixing with an ordinary tone signal at a suitable mixing ratio. In addition to the imparting of the resonance tone, a known control for switching of a decay rate of a tone volume envelope may be performed.
