摘要： In one aspect, the present invention provides an enclosure for an electronic device that includes a thermally conductive casing for housing internal components of the device. The casing can include a internal surface for thermal coupling to the internal components and an external surface, thermally coupled to the internal surface, for transmitting heat generated by the internal components to an external environment. In addition, the enclosure can include a heat pipe adapted for having thermal contact with at least one of the internal components at one end therefore and having thermal contact with a portion of the casing's internal surface at another end so as to facilitate transfer of heat generated by that internal component to the external environment.

摘要： In a disk array system, cooling means with a great versatility capable of efficiently performing a cooling and a heat radiation of the objects to be cooled on the circuit board in a small space and a structure capable of stably supplying the power from a DC—DC converter to the electronic components on the circuit board are provided. A circuit board is stored in a logic box in a state where a heat sink is fitted thereto, a power supply section supplies a voltage to the circuit board, and a fan is used in the ventilation for the circuit board. The circuit board has an LSI and a wiring area as the objects to be cooled. A heat sink including a base part having a flat surface to cover the whole of the objects to be cooled and radiator fins is provided. The board fitted with the heat sink is assembled in such a manner. That is, the circuit board and the heat sink are made opposed to each other and then connected with interposing the block with high thermal conductivity, which is filled depending on the height of the objects to be cooled, therebetween. Thereafter, the whole is fixed by the screws and the like.

摘要： A system and method for cooling a series of heat generating devices arrayed sequentially in the axis of flow for a cooling medium. An inlet manifold contains a stepped chamber whereby cool air is apportioned to several chambers, each chamber containing a heat generating device. An outlet manifold contains a similar stepped chamber whereby heated air is exhausted from the heat generating device. In an embodiment of a disk array, each chamber may hold one or more disk drives. Further, the manifold system may also serve as a mounting bracket for the disk drives.

The enclosure case cover, the enclosure case body, the heat-dissipating plate, and the support members are constituted of aluminum or an aluminum alloy and are disposed in contact with the inner hard-disk-drive case in such a way as to dissipate heat. A plurality of parallel grooves are formed lengthwise and/or widthwise along the outer surface of the top panel and/or the outer surfaces of the side panels of the outer enclosure case body such that the cross-section of the top panel and/or the side panels is a heat-dissipating configuration of rectangular protrusions and depressions.

The HDD is securely mounted in the open center of the sound absorbing frame, and the heat sinks are mounted on the sound absorbing frame with the HDD. The multiple posts on the heat sinks respectively extend through the corresponding through holes in the sound absorbing frame. Screws screw into the threaded holes in the posts to hold the assembly together.

The memory apparatus using the portable recording medium comprises an upper outer case, a lower outer case, a drive device for driving the recording medium, an inner bottom case fitted onto the lower outer case, a top cover for covering the upper part of the inner bottom case, a power source unit disposed in the inner bottom case, and a holder for fitting the drive device to the inner bottom case. A separator interposed as a safety component between the power source unit and the drive device is defined by extending upward the wall surface of the holder on the side of the power source unit. In this construction, the holder holds the drive device through a leaf spring and, in order to allow a part of the holder to function as a heat sink, the distal end portion of the wall surface functioning as the separator may be extended in such a manner as to cover the upper portion of the power source unit.
