Abstract: In one embodiment, a device forms a plurality of clusters of network paths used to convey traffic for an online application by applying clustering to telemetry data for those network paths. The device determines a predictability metric for a particular cluster in the plurality of clusters. The device provides an indication of the predictability metric for the particular cluster for display. The device enables, based in part on the predictability metric, predictive routing for the network paths in the particular cluster.

Abstract: Described in this document, among other things, is an overload protection system that can protect data sinks from overload by controlling the volume of data sent to those data sinks in a fine-grained manner. The protection system preferably sits in between edge servers, or other producers of data, and data sinks that will receive some or all of the data. Preferably, each data sink owner defines a policy to control how and when overload protection will be applied. Each policy can include definitions of how to monitor the stream of data for overload and specify one or more conditions upon which throttling actions are necessary. In embodiments, a policy can contain a multi-part specification to identify the class(es) of traffic to monitor to see if the conditions have been triggered.

Abstract: Systems and methods may optimize power consumption for RAN devices. A device obtains field data of user equipment (UE) devices for a group of cells during a time interval. The field data includes signal strength measurements. The device computes cell boundaries for each cell based on the field data and predicts signal strength values inside each of the cell boundaries for a future time period. The device computes a cumulative overlap feature and a weighted signal strength feature for each cell of the group of cells during the future time period and generates an energy consumption predictive model that applies the cumulative overlap feature and the weighted signal strength feature for the future time period. The device determines, based on the energy consumption predictive model, optimal cell boundaries that correspond to a reduced energy consumption needed to meet service requirements during the future time period.

Abstract: The present disclosure facilitates improving the operation of a cloud service by updating its configuration information and its resource requirements. The resource utilization of the cloud service can be monitored, and a decision logic module can determine whether action is required. When action is required, an update can be prepared and applied, and notifications can be generated about the condition and its resolution. Resolutions can require correlation of multiple cloud services to provide real-time access to information that is not otherwise available to a single entity. Resolutions can be learned and predicted in a number of ways using a predictive engine.

Abstract: A method for managing computation load of a fog node is disclosed, wherein a computation capacity of the fog node is predicted to become unavailable to a fog network. The method comprises identifying a candidate set of nodes for computational load transfer from the fog node. The method further comprises obtaining a computation graph representing computation in the fog network, and using a learning model to identify a morphism from the obtained computation graph to a new computation graph, in which the fog node is not included. The identified morphism comprises a sequence of one or more morphing operations that replaces the fog node in the obtained computation graph with a topology of one or more nodes selected from the candidate set. The method further comprises causing computation performed at the fog node to be transferred to one or more nodes of the candidate set.

Abstract: The technology disclosed relates to learning how to efficiently display anomalies in performance data to an operator. In particular, it relates to assembling performance data for a multiplicity of metrics across a multiplicity of resources on a network and training a classifier that implements at least one circumstance-specific detector used to monitor a time series of performance data or to detect patterns in the time series. The training includes producing a time series of anomaly event candidates including corresponding event information used as input to the detectors, generating feature vectors for the anomaly event candidates, selecting a subset of the candidates as anomalous instance data, and using the feature vectors for the anomalous instance data and implicit and/or explicit feedback from users exposed to a visualization of the monitored time series annotated with visual tags for at least some of the anomalous instances data to train the classifier.

Abstract: Adaptation of a network is disclosed. A proposed adaptation, determined by a sub-network component of the network based on an intended effect to the sub-network, can be received by a network-level arbitration component. The network-level arbitration component can determine if the proposed adaptation satisfies a rule based on predicted results on the network from implementing the proposed adaptation. Where the rule is satisfied the adaptation can be implemented. A result of the implementation can be compared to the predicted results to determine if the network should be reverted to a pre-implementation state. In an aspect, the network-level arbitration component can be a core-network component. In an embodiment, the network-level arbitration component can be a virtualized component on a network provider server, a cloud server, etc.

Abstract: Predicting data throughput with a user device comprises a wireless system supported by wireless access points receiving signals from the user device. A wireless prediction system receives data from the wireless system, where the data comprises characteristics of the wireless access point, characteristics of communications with user computing devices, and data throughput statistics. The prediction system categorizes the received data based on one or more of a set of characteristics and determines a maximum data throughput capacity for each of the one or more wireless access points for each of the one or more set of characteristics. The system receives a request for a prediction of data throughput capacity for a particular wireless access point and, based on the characteristics of the particular wireless access point, determines an estimated data throughput capacity based on data throughputs of wireless access points having similar characteristics.

Abstract: A device may receive one or more data models that have been trained using a first set of values that are in a format capable of being processed by the one or more data models. The first set of values may be associated with a set of historical network performance indicators relating to a set of network devices. The device may receive network data that includes network ticket information and performance statistics for the one or more network devices. The device may determine a set of network performance indicators relating to the one or more network devices. The device may convert the set of network performance indicators into a second set of values that are in the format capable of being processed by the one or more data models. The device may use the second set of values to generate one or more recommendations associated with improving network performance.
