Abstract:
A method and system are provided for forwarding telephone calls, facsimile transmissions and electronic messages to a single forwarding telephone number. The telephone calls, fax transmissions and electronic messages are first forwarded to a central forwarding repository by the forwarding party where the fax transmissions, and messages are converted to audio formats. Forwarded telephone calls and audio formatted versions of the fax transmissions and electronic messages are then forwarded directly to a designated forwarding number. If the forwarding party answers at the forwarding number, she will receive forwarded calls, and the audio formatted versions of fax transmissions and electronic messages will be played to her over her telephone. If the forwarding party does not answer the forwarded call, she subsequently may retrieve saved telephone calls, saved telephone messages and saved audio versions of fax transmissions and electronic messages from the central forwarding repository. The forwarding party may retrieve saved messages as a retrieving party from the central forwarding repository after entry of a personal identification number to authenticate the forwarding (retrieving) party's permission to retrieve saved calls and messages.
Abstract:
An image transmission apparatus includes an acquisition unit that acquires image data and an identifier for identifying a transmission destination, a first transmission unit that transmits the image data to a transmission destination identified by the identifier, a receiving unit that receives a stop instruction for stopping the transmission while the first transmission unit is transmitting the image data, and a processing unit that when a transmission request of the image data is received from a host apparatus, performs stop processing for stopping the transmission when the receiving unit receives the stop instruction and performs stop prevention processing for preventing the stop processing from being performed or the stop instruction from being received when the transmission request of the image data is received from an external apparatus.
Abstract:
An image-reading lens includes front-group and rear-group lens systems which are arranged on an object side and an image side, respectively. The front-group lens system includes equal to or less than 5 lenses which include at least one positive lens and at least one negative lens, and the rear-group lens system includes one negative lens. An angle of view of an entire system of the image-reading lens is equal to or more than 56°. The front-group and rear-group lens systems are structured such that with respect to a change in a distance between the front-group and rear-group lens systems, a change in a focal length of the entire system of the image-reading lens is small, and a change in an image plane is large, and by adjusting the distance between the front-group and rear-group lens systems, a required lens performance is obtained.
Abstract:
A Braille-to-Braille facsimile machine implemented process scans an original Braille document, obtaining an image of the original Braille document. The image of the original Braille document is processed, producing an extracted Braille image and duplicating formatting of the original Braille document to produce a copy of the original Braille document. The copy of the original Braille document is sent, via a communications link and received. The copy of the original Braille document is then printed.
Abstract:
A method of controlling power consumption of an image forming apparatus includes outputting information regarding power consumption of a plurality of operation units if a power consumption check mode is set, performing power save operation in which at least one operation unit from among the plurality of operation units is turned on and the remaining operation units are turned off if a power save mode is set. Accordingly, on/off of the plurality of operation units may be controlled in the power save mode based on power consumption of each of the operation units.
Abstract:
Devices, systems and methods are disclosed which relate to incorporating a fax machine function into a mobile device. A camera on the mobile device is used to scan or capture an image of an existing document. Logic on the mobile device converts the image into a fax transmittal that can be transmitted to a fax machine. Once the fax transmittal is ready, a connection is initiated with a traditional fax machine across one or more networks, and the fax transmittal is sent to the fax machine at a speed determined by the slower device. Upon a successful transmission, the connection is terminated, and a report is generated.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention relate generally to computing devices and systems, as well as software, computer programs, applications, and user interfaces, and more particularly, to systems, devices and methods to facilitate message preview control. For example, the method may include generating representations for messages to present on an interface, and detecting selection of the representation for the message. Further, the method can include presenting preview information for the message, which can be an electronic facsimile. The representations for the messages can include a representation for an electronic facsimile, as well as a voice message and an email.
Abstract:
In the image processing device, method and system of the present invention, a destination identifier of an image file is stored, the destination identifier indicating one of a plurality of external stations as a destination station which receives the image file from the image processing device through a network. At least one of a sender identifier of the image file, a subject identifier of the image file and a scan condition of the image file is stored. The image file is transmitted, together with at least one of the sender identifier, the subject identifier and the scan condition, through the network to one of the external stations indicated by the stored destination identifier.
Abstract:
A configurable queue processor for document servers is described. The configurable queue processor strives to allocate server resources in an optimal manner such that document servers can process documents efficiently. In various embodiments, the facility includes a configurable queue processor for allocating document flows for handling documents, document transport module for transporting documents between network devices, such as printers, fax boards, and content servers and across local and wide-area networks; functionality for routing optimization with other communications networks, such as messaging services, telephony, and IP networks; and flexible document transport capabilities to workflow applications and multifunction devices (such as all-in-one print/scan/copy/fax/telephone/answering machine devices) and multifunction devices enhanced with video & video capture, messaging, email, network router & gateway capabilities.
Abstract:
A contract management service receives a relocation request including rearrangement information relating to relocation of an application to be applied to the image forming apparatus, the relocation request being for demanding relocation of the application to be applied to the image forming apparatus, decides a rearrangement application corresponding to the image forming apparatus after being rearranged based on the rearrangement information, and responds with the image forming apparatus after being rearranged and rearrangement information relating to the rearrangement application. The image forming apparatus accepts an application rearrangement instruction having the rearrangement, determines whether or not applying the rearrangement application is required based on the rearrangement information, and receives the rearrangement application from the contract management service depending on a determination result to thereby apply the rearrangement application.
