    摘要: A steam trap system is disclosed. The steam trap system includes an inlet, an outlet, and a float, with the inlet and the outlet separated by an orifice. The steam trap includes a plug operatively coupled to the float and disposed adjacent the orifice and arranged to open and close the orifice in response to movement of the float. A instrument module includes a pressure transducer arranged to detect pressure in the steam trap, a temperature transducer arranged to detect temperature within the steam trap, and an eddy current probe arranged to detect movement of the plug. A central processing unit is operatively coupled to and arranged to receive an output from each of the pressure transducer, the temperature transducer, and the eddy current probe, the central processing unit arranged to process the respective outputs to thereby determine total steam flow and total condensate flow through the steam trap.

    摘要: A steam trap including a buoyant float member is equipped with a valve seat assembly which is closed by abutment of the float with a valve seat portion surrounding the flow orifice. The assembly is formed with a float abutment member made of carbide located adjacent the valve seat surface on the outer periphery thereof and located to serve as a contact point for the float member and to define a fulcrum about which the float may pivot when moving into and out of contact with the valve seat surface. The material of the float abutment member ensures a longer service life and a more secure closure of the flow orifice.

    摘要: A steam trap assembly is formed with a casing defining a valve chamber therein with an inlet for introducing fluid generally consisting of condensate and steam into said chamber and with an outlet for discharging condensate from the chamber. A bucket-type float freely movable within the valve chamber is formed with an outer surface portion adapted to engage and disengage a valve seat defining the orifice of an outlet passage through which condensate is discharged from said steam trap. The float is structured as a hollow shell member defining a downwardly directed opening and with a generally continuous body having a substantially spherical configuration extending to a mouthpiece member which is fitted in the opening of the spherical shell member to define the opening with a generally circular configuration. The mouthpiece member has a weight characteristic tending to bias the center of gravity of the float member downwardly toward the opening.
