    摘要： A container or pan for producing predetermined food portions is disclosed. Indicia are formed on the container at selected intervals adjacent an outer peripheral edge. A cutting blade is provided having a length substantially equivalent to a length, or a width, or a diameter of the container; or to a distance between a pair of cooperating indicia. The cutting blade is adapted to extend from the indicia on one side of the container to the indicia on another side of the container. The cutting member is placed in alignment with the respective indicia and then forced downwardly through the food. The indicia provide a guide to readily align the cutting blade for cutting the food into selected sized portions without having to measure and mark the food prior no cutting.

    摘要： Embodiments of an alignment system for a table saw are disclosed, wherein the table saw has a rotatable blade that extends through its table top, the table top having spaced indicia oriented in a direction parallel to the plane of the blade, comprising an elongated fence having first and second end portions, at least the first end portion having a mechanism for securing the fence on the table saw, an elongated portion attached to the first end portion and extending over the table top, the fence being normally oriented so that the elongated portion is parallel to the plane of the blade and being laterally adjustable relative to the blade, at least two light emitting units mounted on the fence at spaced locations along the length of the fence, each unit configured to direct light on a first side of the fence toward the indicia and enable an observer to determine if the fence is oriented parallel to the indicia.

    摘要： The present invention relates to a method for cutting a piece of meat into a predetermined number of steaks. To allow the piece of meat to be cut in a rapid and simple manner with small losses of raw material, the piece of meat is placed in a mould whose bottom, cover and side walls substantially enclose the piece of meat, the piece of meat is subjected to a pressure in such a way that the bottom, the cover or at least one of the walls is movable and at least partly pressed into the mould until the piece of meat is so compressed as to fill substantially the entire space between the bottom, side walls and cover of the mould. The cutting elements are inserted into the mould through slots provided in the side walls, cover and/or bottom of the mould, whereby the piece of meat subjected to pressure is cut into a predetermined number of steaks by the cutting elements. The invention also relates to a cutting apparatus.

    摘要： A piece of carpet is placed in a press equipped with a cutting tool and with a plate through which pattern on the carpet can be viewed when the plate overlies the carpet. The position of the plate relative to the cutting tool is accurately controlled and the plate can be moved away from the piece of carpet prior to cutting of the latter. The plate has indicating means which can be aligned visually with selected elements of the pattern of the carpet by manual adjustment of the latter to enable the carpet to be cut at predetermined positions with respect to the pattern.

    摘要： Method and apparatus for encoding chemistry information on an identification device used to identify containers of biological matter such as blood samples, the apparatus including superimposed dies each having a plurality of rows of apertures, the apertures of one die being in alignment with the apertures of the other die, the dies being spaced one from another to receive the identification device between the dies. A stylus, having a tip for penetrating the identification device, is selectively inserted through the aligned apertures in the two dies thereby perforating (encoding) the device at one or more predetermined sites. Each perforation represents a chemical test or a set of tests to be performed on the biological matter in the container. A verifier is provided so that when the stylus perforates the device at a given site, an electrical circuit is completed to illuminate a corresponding portion of a display panel for optical indication to the operator of the true nature of the encoding which has taken place.
