    摘要： A method and apparatus for controlling the discharge of an elastomeric material from a high intensity mixing machine having a mixing chamber with two rotors and an outlet with a drop door. The drop door is open when the rotors are in a predetermined preferred position for unloading the mixing machine in response to the positions of indicators on the rotor shafts. Sensors mounted in the wall of the outlet determine when the gate is clear after unloading of the mixed elastomeric material whereby the drop door may be moved into the outlet for closing of the mixing chamber as soon as the unloading is completed.

In order to ensure that neither the structure nor the form of the substances or of the foodstuff masses are modified during the mixing process, an elongated mixing container (1) contains at least two horizontal, spiral helices (4a, 4b) that turn in opposite directions, the diameters of which partially overlap without contact and the pitches of which are inclined in the direction of transport of the material to be mixed, so that a mixing section (4d), along which the substances can be mixed without pressure into the foodstuff mass, is formed between an input (9) and an output (3).

The auger is equipped with a first section of auger blades that turn clockwise and a second section of auger blades that turn counterclockwise. The hopper has a bottom that is partially cylindrical where the auger is installed and one wall extends vertical and the opposite one extends oblique from the bottom.

    摘要： A device for continuously blending particulate materials has a central shaft, a plurality of metering elements which are each separately metering a respective particulate material, blending element for receiving and blending the metered quantities of particulate material and including a conveyor formed as an elongate member having a rotating axis coinciding with the axis of the shaft and disposed helically in turns about and concentric to the rotating axis, a drive for rotating the elongate member to trace out an envelope shape of the helically formed elongate member, and a casing accommodating the conveyor and having a discharge and a lower portion conforming to the envelope shape of the elongate member. The conveyor rotates in the casing to generate a conveying direction, and stirring members are provided on the conveyor and extend between some of its turns. The elongate member has a cross-section which is of arcuate form at least on a side facing the conveying direction to create an inefficient conveyor, and the stirring members are arranged on an outside portion of at least adjacent turns of the elongate member.

    摘要： A feedscrew for an extruder or molding apparatus has an elongated body with a helical thread formed thereon defining a first channel "A ". At the start of a mixing section, a channel "B " is cut in the center of the channel "A " and both channels are of the same pitch. The channels start at the same depth, but the channel A decreases in depth to a minimum and the channel B increases in depth to a maximum. The channel B then decreases in depth to a minimum and the channel A increases in depth to a maximum where the channels are again at the same depth. This channel within a channel configuration is repeated along the mixing section. The purpose of the arrangement is to compress and decompress the material being fed through the assembly to obtain the desired mixing action for low shear homogenization of the viscous plastic polymer.
