    摘要: There is provided a thermocouple temperature detector mounting structure for a mixing tank for which the temperature detecting end of the thermocouple temperature detector mounted on the high viscosity mixing material mixer is capable of measuring temperature in real time and for which the mechanical load applied, by the flow of the material being mixed, on the temperature detecting end is made as small as possible. A temperature sensing portion with a hemispherical tip, of a protective inner tube that accommodates a thermocouple element of a thermocouple temperature detector, is mounted on a mixing tank, for mixing a high viscosity mixing material, so as to project from the end of a protective tip that projects into the mixing tank. With the outside diameter of a projecting base section of the protective tip that projects into the mixing tank being 2 to 3 times that of the protective inner tube, and with the projecting length (h) that projects into the mixing tank being the same length as the difference of the radius of the projecting base section of the protective tip and the radius of the protective inner tube, the outer circumferential face of a shoulder section of the protective tip, that is from the projecting base section of the protective tip to the site connecting to the outer circumference of the protective inner tube, is formed in a convex arcuate face that has a radius that is the difference of the radius of the projecting base section of the protective tip and the radius of the protective inner tube.

    摘要: A process is provided for producing a compatibilized polymeric blend. A first thermoplastic polymer and a reactive moiety are provided to a progressive melt kneading apparatus. The reactive moiety comprises a first reactive group capable of reacting with the first thermoplastic polymer but not a second polymer and a second reactive group capable of reacting with the second polymer but not the first polymer. The first thermoplastic polymer and the reactive moiety are then melt kneaded so that the first reactive group reacts with the first thermoplastic polymer and the second reactive group is grafted to the first thermoplastic polymer, forming a molten self-compatibilizer. A molten second polymer is then provided. The molten self-compatibilizer is melt kneaded with the molten second polymer so that the second reactive group reacts with the second polymer to form a compatibilized polymeric blend. Also provided are articles formed from the compatibilized polymer blend.

    摘要: A plurality of mixing rotors that are housed in a chamber having a cocoon-shaped cross section in a tangential non-intermeshing state, where a plurality of long wings and short wings are provided on a wing portion of the mixing rotors. The long wings and the short wings severally have a plurality of different sizes of tip clearances, a twist angle of the long wings is changed in the axis direction, and makes mixing efficiency and dispersion efficiency compatible. Further, cooling medium paths are provided severally in the chamber and the mixing rotors to suppress excessive increase of the temperature of mixing materials. According to a batch mixer using the mixing rotors, it is possible to control quality reduction of the mixing materials caused by heat generation, and to improve the productivity by increasing the number of the wings without diminishing inherent processing performance of the mixer.

The flow of the materials along the axial direction differs from one rotor to another. Also disclosed is a mixing and kneading machine including a pair of parallel rotors each having a long vane and a short vane, the long vane extending spirally about the center lines of the rotors and the short vane extending along the center lines of the rotors. Flowing behavior of material to be mixed and kneaded occurs in opposing directions between both rotors.

    摘要: An internal mixing apparatus for mixing plastic materials, especially raw rubber, has a mixing chamber defined by substantially parallel cylindrical individual chambers. Each of these chambers holds a rotating shaft and the two shafts rotate in opposite directions. In one embodiment of the invention, the shafts have a cylindrical outer surface on which is disposed at least one principal conveying and mixing vane. The vanes on the two parallel shafts are disposed in mirror symmetry so that the ridges of the vanes roll off against one another with or without contact. The principal vanes terminate ahead of the end faces of the mixing chamber, thereby defining free passages permitting the transverse motion of the material to be mixed. Within these passages, the shafts carry scraping vanes for preventing the accumulation of stationary material. In another embodiment of the invention, the vane cores are conical and the height of the vanes changes continuously so that the wall clearance between the ridges of the vanes and the internal walls of the mixing chamber change as a function of axial distance, defining high pressure and low pressure zones. In the high pressure zones, the wall clearance is large, permitting substantial tangential material flow. In a third embodiment of the invention, the vanes on the two shafts interleave, one solid vane engaging an interruption of the opposite vane.
