    摘要: The present disclosure provides an apparatus for dispensing powdered material, including container for storing powdered material. The container includes inlet for receiving powdered material and outlet for dispensing powdered material. A screw conveyor member disposed within container, which includes a first end rotatably mounted on wall of container and a second end abuttingly positioned to outlet and is operable by actuator for conveying powdered material through outlet. A scattering member, which includes at least one obstruction, is coupled to outlet, for scattering powdered material from outlet during dispensing operation. A load sensor adapted to support container for measuring weight of container. A control module adapted to control operating speed of actuator to operate screw conveyor member in a plurality of rotating modes based on weight readings received from load sensor. The apparatus prevents formation of chunks while dispensing powdered substance and thereby ensure precise dispensing of powdered material.

A developer 14 includes a laterally facing entry conduit 40 aligned with the side delivery conduit 26 of the dough pump. Developer paddle 48 gently moves the dough along the developer housing 44 to a downwardly facing delivery conduit 46. The dough pump motor 30 and the developer motor 50 are located on opposite ends of their respective housings. The dough pump auger 22 pushes the dough away from the motor and its transmission and toward the side delivery conduit 26. Likewise, the developer paddle 48 moves the dough in the opposite direction away from the motor and its transmission so that the seals at the inlet end portions of the dough pump and developer are less likely to be over-pressurized and are less likely to leak.

    摘要: Mass handling methods for the continuous processing of masa type dough in conjunction with commonly available feed processing equipment, such as a masa extruder, an oven, or cooling apparatus. One masa handling method includes a masa separator having a pair of opposed, endless belt conveyors having facing surfaces spaced apart to receive a generally continuous masa stream output from a nozzle on the masa extruder. When the masa stream moves between the conveyors, it is gripped by their facing surfaces and moved away from the nozzle, causing the masa to be separated into individual pieces, or logs. The masa handling method can also include feeding the masa to masa hoppers fed by at least two endless belt conveyors arranged in upstream and downstream positions relative to each other. The masa is transported along the conveyors and is automatically diverted into one masa hopper by a diverter gate operated by a controller that receives a signal from a sensor sensing a masa level within an associated one of the hoppers. The hopper has one or more rotating shafts having projections to remove gas bubbles from the masa and force it toward the sheeter rollers. A pair of primary rollers with scrapers can be provided within the hopper to roll the masa to an intermediate thickness before it passes between the sheeter rollers.

    摘要: An extrusion processed cookie is produced having shear sensitive particulates and/or heat sensitive additions uniformly dispersed therein. A dry flour blend, including flour, dry milk solids and salt is added to a blending zone of a cooker-extruder with a fat or shortening. The mixture is blended and heat-treated in a heating zone of the extruder under high temperatures without fat separation to form a heat-treated mass. The heat-treated mass is cooled in a cooling zone followed by the addition of a sugar, heat sensitive and/or shear sensitive ingredient to form a cookie composition. Water is also introduced to the cooling zone in an amount effective to produce a dough-like consistency. The heat-treated cookie composition is extruded and shaped into an unleavened and unexpanded cookie dough piece. The cookie pieces are then leavened by heating in a convection, microwave or radio frequency oven to produce a leavened cookie having a crumb-like structure.

    摘要: An extruder operating to continuously mix, at least partially bake and extrude a preselected formulation of ingredients to provide an at least partially baked output product which, upon final baking, exhibits a cookie-like crumb structure with structural integrity. The extruder includes an added water inlet port downstream from a feed port means. A screw-type element is rotatably arranged in the extruder to vigorously mix and convey at least certain ingredients of the preselected formulation, including flour and oil, input through the feed port means, wherein the total water content, by weight, of the ingredients is less than a preselected amount. A temperature control means operates to heat treat the ingredients upstream from the added water inlet port during the vigorous mixing and conveyance by the screw-type element. A source of water is coupled to the added water inlet port to add a preselected amount of water to the ingredients to increase the water content and modify the consistency of the ingredients after heat treatment and vigorous mixing and conveying. The screw-type element downstream from the added water inlet port is arranged for a gentle mixing and conveyance of the ingredients and added water. In addition, a radio frequency device is coupled to the downstream end of the extruder to leaven, brown and final bake the output product.
