    摘要: In the present invention, virtual regions each having a width of 1/2n (where n is a natural number greater than or equal to 1) of the detection width of a force sensor provided on a tire travel surface are set in a region to be measured of a tire. The contact position between the tire travel surface and tire is shifted along a prescribed direction such that the force sensor touches a single virtual region a plurality of times, and the sensor is used to carry out force measurement a plurality of times. Mapping data is generated that associates each measurement time with data about the positional relationship between the virtual regions and sensor. Force values for each virtual region are calculated on the basis of the sensor detection values and the force balance relationship between the sensor and virtual regions determined by a mapping data generation unit.

    摘要: Method for allocating identification codes which are contained in signals transmitted by components of a tire pressure monitoring system, said components being attached to wheels of the vehicle, to the wheel positions. A plurality of sensors to the tire pressure, to the rolling direction of the wheel, to the shocks, as well as a memory for the identification code, and a transmitter which supplies signals with the identification code, the rolling direction and the occurrence of a shock on a wheel to a receiver which, based on the supplied rolling direction information, distinguishes identification codes pertaining to wheels on the left-hand or right-hand side of the vehicle from shocks which occur on the left-hand or right-hand side of the vehicle, measures the time interval elapsing between shock signals on one side of the vehicle, multiplies this time interval by the velocity of the vehicle measured within the same time interval.

    摘要: A vehicle wheel that includes a valve which has a check device, with the wheel being intended for use with a pneumatic tire that even when operating as a tire which is flat or has otherwise lost pressure permits great distances to be covered at a reduced speed. To prevent misuse of the tire, in other words reinflation of a tire subsequent to flat-tire operation and before the tire has been checked for leaks, the valve is provided with a mechanism that prevents such misuse. This mechanism is pneumatically disposed in series with the check device and is installed in an open position and in such a way that it changes over into a closed position upon commencement of a flat-tire operation, with a special tool and/or special replacement parts being required in order to reestablish the open position of the mechanism.

A rocking rod extending from the case into the interior of the tire is supported at its substantially intermediate portion for pivotal movement from a neutral position, and a warning element for attracting the attention of a driver responds to the movements of the rod, when the tire is deflated due, for instance, to puncture. The warning element may either be one end of the rocking rod which strikes the case to give a series of sounds or an electromagnetic switch arrangement which energizes a buzzer.

    摘要: Apparatus and method adapted for detecting the profile deflection condition in a wheel structure of the type comprised of a pneumatic tire mounted on a wheel rim and which deflection may be caused by tire under inflation or overloading. A sensing and actuating structure constructed from flexible material having high flex fatigue characteristics to include a body portion and a profile sensor is conveniently mounted to the drop center portion of the rim such that the profile sensor extends into the tire cavity so that it is positively engaged by the inside of the tire wall when tire profile deflection reaches an amount greater than a predetermined maximum amount due to overloading or under inflation, to thereby cause flexure in the profile sensor generally inwardly toward the rim. This flexure causes a piezoelectric device positioned adjacent the profile sensor to provide an electrical discharge. This electrical discharge is electrically interconnected to the radio transmitter for selectively causing energization thereof. The radio signal thus selectively transmitted is received by a receiving unit spaced remote from the wheel to cause energization of convenient indicating means located within the vehicle itself for showing that tire deflection greater than a predetermined maximum amount has been detected.
