Abstract:
An unscrambler conveyor including a frame, a plurality of tapered rollers rotatably supported by the frame for unscrambling packages, and means for driving the rollers. Each of the rollers has a longitudinal axis and a polyurethane body that extends along the longitudinal axis to form a tapered outer surface. The tapered outer surfaces of the rollers define a conveying surface and have variations in concentricity of less than 0.01 inches.
Abstract:
The invention provides a conveying installation capable of discharging specific commodity out of conveying lines, which features decreased number of component parts and ease assemble structure. In consideration of unification of component parts, the invention provides such a conveying installation being compatible with conveying systems having a variety of width using fewer kinds of component parts. The conveying installation incorporates a roller-shaped rotary body 11 to which ring bodies 12 are secured. Axial lines of respective ring bodies 12 are eccentric and inclined against axial line of the roller-shaped rotary body 11, and yet, adjoining ring bodies 12 respectively have 120.degree. of phasewise difference.
Abstract:
A ramp is used for loading and unloading recreational vehicles, especially snowmobiles, trucks, trailers and the like. The preferred ramp is a three section ramp with two outer sections and a center section connected to fold from side to side for storage and transport purposes. Each outer ramp section is equipped with a series of rollers spaced along the ramp section to allow the skis of a snowmobile to advance along the ramp without binding. The rollers are preferably made with a rigid core and a rotating outer sleeve of PVC. The tubing is slit helically from end to end so that it can be removed and installed without dismantling the ramp. The center section of the ramp is equipped with lateral cleats.
Abstract:
A conveyor diverter system comprising one or more conveyors, components for diverter systems having friction-enhancing outer surfaces, friction-enhancing layers and compositions that provide such surfaces are disclosed. In addition, methods of reducing the frequency or occurrence of articles being misdiverted by use of such systems, components, layers and compositions are described. The preferred embodiment of the friction-enhancing layer and composition disposed on the outer periphery of the diverter components comprises grit materials dispersed in a metallic material such that a particular grit surface density is achieved and grit particles protrude above the uppermost surface of the metallic layer within a range of particular distances.
Abstract:
A powered roller conveyor especially effective for upgrade conveyance of light loads of 15 kg to 60 kg, wherein the resin coating of rollers 1 is a soft polyurethane rubber having a hardness of 65 to 80 degrees and the outer surface of the resin coating is an undulating surface having ridges 1a which extend axially and parallel and which, seen in a cross-section of the roller, are arranged with a uniform spacing pitch of about 3 mm and have a height of about 2 mm. Manufacturing these rollers requires no new additional equipment nor much labor, which makes it possible to provide low-priced rollers and hence contribute to cost reductions for the roller conveyor. This conveyor is ideal for upgrade conveyance along slopes of large angles.
Abstract:
A feeder assembly for a combine including a conveyor having a plurality of laterally spaced driving chains entrained about and supported by a pair of for-and-aft spaced lateral supports. An elastomeric assembly is removably fitted about and is adapted for rotation with one of the supports to define a replaceable wear surface for the support while attenuating noise generated by the feeder assembly during operation thereof.
Abstract:
A web transporting apparatus wherein the web is trained over the external surface of a radially expandible elastic shell which is connected with two end walls to form a roll and to define an internal compartment which is filled with a pressurized hydraulic fluid. The pressure of hydraulic fluid is regulated in dependency upon the thickness of the web which is being transported so that the neutral zone of the web is invariably located at the same distance from the axis of the roll. The pressure of fluid in the compartmnt is regulatable by a hydropneumatic transducer wherein a hydraulic cylinder and piston unit admits pressurized hydraulic fluid into the compartment and the pressure of fluid in the hydraulic cylinder and piston unit is regulated by a pneumatic cylinder and piston unit which receives pressurized gaseous fluid by way of an adjusting valve. Regulation of the outer diameter of the shell compensates for variations in the thickness of the transported web. The material of the shell is selected in such a way that it is capable of undergoing a purely elastic deformation within a desired range which depends upon the range of thicknesses of webs which are to be transported in the apparatus.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an end cap for a ceramic spool as well as to a method of and device for mounting it on the end of such a spool. The quill portion (5) of an end cap is divided by means of slits (9) into strips (10), the first ends of which are rigidly connected to a ring (12) formed by the open quill end and the other ends are rigidly connected to a flange (13) closing the other quill end, with a stub axle (6) projecting from said flange. Provided in the middle of strips (10) are threaded holes (11). The annular jacket (7) of said auxiliary device (3) can be fitted around said end cap quill (5) with a small annular clearance remaining therebetween. The annular jacket (7) is circumferentially provided with holes (17) with screws (18) extending therethrough and engageable in threaded holes (11). By turning screws (18), said strips (10) can be bent outwards so as to fit the spool end (4) inside quill (5). When screws (18) are unscrewed, strips (10) return elastically inwards and squeeze around the spool end (4).
Abstract:
A transport roller, especially for transporting sheet material such as sheets of paper, has a rigid core surrounded by a friction increasing jacket of elastic material. At least one member is inserted between the jacket and the roller for preventing a relative axial displacement between the core and the jacket. Such member is an endless helical spring partially embedded in the jacket and projecting into a ring groove in the core, whereby the jacket is firmly held in place on the core against any relative axial displacement.
Abstract:
