Abstract:
Adaptations and improvements to tubular metal powder filters include employing non-circular cross sectional geometries, aligning the inner conductor off-axis, replacing the inner conductive wire with a conductive trace carried on a printed circuit board, combining multiple filters within a single common outer conductive housing, and employing meandering and other non-parallel signal paths. The various adaptations and improvements are designed to accommodate single-ended and differential signaling, as well as superconducting and non-superconducting applications.

The present invention relates to a microwave device of the slot-line type with a photonic band gap structure, comprising at least: a first substrate in a dielectric material having a first permittivity εr1, a second substrate in a dielectric material having a second permittivity εr2, and between the two substrates, a conductive layer in which at least one slot-line is engraved, with, on the face of the first and second substrates opposite the face in contact with the conductive layer, facing the slot-line, periodic metal patterns. The invention enables a compact filtering structure to be realized.
Abstract:
A conductive film is provided on a dielectric substrate. The conductive film has conductor opening portions, which serve as inductive regions, and a conductor opening portion, which serves as a capacitive region. Multi-step ring resonator elements, each including a conductor line aggregate, are provided on respective substrates to configure resonator elements. The resonator elements are mounted above the conductor opening portions that serve as the inductive regions. This arrangement provides a resonator having a high Qo.
Abstract:
In the direct current cut structure of the present invention, two capacitors are provided in parallel between signal transmission line patterns facing each other on a substrate, and each of the two capacitors is electrically connected to each surface of each transmission line pattern that is exposed through a hole part provided on the substrate. It is preferable for the two capacitors to have different capacity. If there is no need to cover such a broad band, only one capacitor can also connected to either side of each transmission line pattern exposed through the hole part.
Abstract:
A resonator, a filter, an oscillator, a duplexer, and a communication apparatus employing these devices have improved efficiency characteristics in confining an electromagnetic field in an opening of an electrode, suppressed current concentration, and minimized conductor loss. Electrode patterns are formed near short-circuited positions in a slot so that the slot will be divided into smaller-width slot lines. Consequently, the efficiency in confining the electromagnetic field is improved, and conductor loss is minimized.
Abstract:
A dielectric resonator filter operating in a magnetic dipole mode includes a plurality of dielectric resonators disposed in a plurality of dielectric resonator cavities. A plurality of coupling mechanism provide an in-line coupling factor between respective resonators of electrically adjacent dielectric resonator cavities. At least one cross-coupling device provides cross-coupling between respective resonators of non-adjacent dielectric resonator cavities. A magnitude and sign of the in-line coupling factors and the cross-coupling factor, provide a dielectric resonator filter, for which a desired amplitude and phase response can be provided.
Abstract:
A high frequency filter kit in which resonating first and second electrical circuits are enclosed between proximal and distal ends of a filter case. Partitioning the inside of the enclosed resonant circuits may be performed by a user to form at least a first cavity and a second cavity. The first resonating circuit is then disposed inside the first cavity of the filter case extending from the proximal end towards the distal end, and the second resonating circuit is disposed inside the second cavity also extending from the proximal end towards the distal end. Electrical signals are coupled into the resonating circuits by an encased signal coupler which is removably mounted by a coupling housing for supporting the signal coupler at the proximal end of the filter case for positioning in the vicinity of the resonating circuits. The kit thus facilitates enhanced turnout time and communication of design specifications for manufacture by specifying the basic components required to build the specific high frequency filter, allowing the user to build prototype filters that may be used for manufacturing a RF/microwave system or be provided as a sample to the filter manufacturers.
Abstract:
A band-rejection filter (1) comprising transmission line resonators (2, 3) further comprises switching means (7, 8) to provide an electrical connection between each transmission line resonator and a certain fixed potential in response to a certain control signal. The fixed potential is advantageously the ground potential, whereby the control signal causes the resonators to be shunted and the frequency response of the filter to be changed into a low-pass-type frequency response.

A multilayer dielectric line circuit in which a dielectric line circuit has a multilayer structure so as to be easily formed with a small overall size. In one form of the invention, first and second dielectric strips and first and second dielectric resonators are provided between respective adjacent pairs of conductor plates. The first dielectric strip and the first dielectric resonator, the first and second dielectric resonators, and the second dielectric resonator and the second dielectric strip are each coupled electrically or magnetically so as to couple the respective dielectric strips in the different layers.
Abstract:
A ceramic filter (100) with integrated harmonic response suppression has a ceramic monolithic block filter having a predetermined passband defined by tuned resonators located between an input and an output (116); and at least one of a harmonic trap filter, a lowpass filter and a lowpass microstrip filter, each having an inductive and a capacitive component. This is achievable with a design which incorporates an integrated harmonic response suppression filter directly in or on the dielectric ceramic monolithic block. This can result in a substantial savings in space, cost, and part count in an electronic telecommunications device.
