Another well system and associated method can include an acoustic generator which can transmit acoustic waves into cement surrounding a casing. Another well system and associated method can include an acoustic generator which can be used to transmit acoustic waves into an annulus surrounding a well screen during or after a gravel packing operation. Another well system and associated method can include an acoustic generator which can be connected in a drill string in close proximity to a drill bit, with the acoustic generator transmitting acoustic waves into a formation ahead of the bit.

摘要: A technique provides an electric submersible pumping system to facilitate a well treatment, such as a hydraulic fracturing well treatment. The electric submersible pumping system is positioned downhole and oriented to intake a fluid delivered downhole for use in the well treatment. Once the fluid is delivered downhole, the electric submersible pumping system pumps, pressurizes and discharges this fluid to perform the well treatment, e.g. the hydraulic fracturing treatment. The pumping system reduces the pressure at which the treatment fluid must be delivered downhole.

摘要: The invention relates to methods to induce pressure transients in fluids for use in hydrocarbon recovery operations. The invention is further characterized by inducing the pressure transients in a fluid by a collision process. The collision process employs a moving object (103, 203, 303, 403) that collides outside the fluid with a body (102, 202, 302, 402) that is in contact with the fluid inside a partly enclosed space (101, 201, 301, 401). Furthermore, the pressure transients must be allowed to propagate in the fluid. The fluid may be one or more of the following group: primarily water, consolidation fluid, treatment fluid, cleaning fluid, drilling fluid, fracturing fluid and cement.

摘要: The disclosure provides a goat head, as a mixing block, for multiple fluids in oilfield applications, the goat head having a reversing directional flow, mixing portion, wear reduction surfaces, and restricted outlet bore. The goat head provides an underneath approach for piping, reducing the overall height, and mixes the fluids dynamically within the goat head from angled flow paths. The goat head then reverses at least a component of the fluid flow direction that enters the wellbore below the goat head and exits the goat head into the well therebelow. The goat head to contains hardened wear surfaces, including surfaces in specific zones, to resist erosion caused by the reversing directional flow. A restricted outlet bore has a cross-sectional area that is less than the sum of cross-sectional areas of the inlets to assist in creating higher velocity and streamlined flow as the fluid exits the goat head.

摘要: Disclosed is an apparatus for vibrating a downhole drill string operable to have a drilling fluid pumped therethrough. The apparatus comprises a tubular body securable to the drill string and having a central bore therethrough, a valve in the tubular body for venting the drilling fluid out of the drill string and a valve actuator for cyclically opening and closing the valve. The method comprises pumping a drilling fluid down the drill string and cyclically venting the drilling fluid through the valve so as to cyclically reduce the pressure of the drilling fluid in the drill string. The valve may comprise a tubular body port and a corresponding rotor port selectably alignable with the tubular body port as the rotor rotates within the central bore. The valve actuator may comprise at least one vane on the rotor for rotating the rotor as the drilling fluid flows therepast.

摘要: A method and assembly for recovering oil using elastic vibration energy involves placing a downhole apparatus in a well, which downhole apparatus is connected to aboveground power supply units and contains an ultrasonic transducer that provides for the generation of high frequency elastic vibrations, exciting elastic vibrations of different frequencies and then repeatedly applying the elastic vibrations to the oil formation, wherein both high and low frequency vibrations are applied to the formation. The low frequency vibrations are generated with the aid of an electric pulse device which is connected to an aboveground power supply and includes the following electrically interconnected components: a charger, a unit of energy storage capacitors, a discharge unit with electrodes, and two switching devices. The method and assembly make it possible to recover oil from depths of over 2000 meters and to act effectively on the formation being treated.

摘要: A method of treating a subterranean formation includes injecting a magnetically permeable material into the formation and energizing the magnetically permeable material using electromagnetic radiation. The magnetically permeable material reacts to the electromagnetic radiation by producing heat. In some embodiments, a fracturing fluid is made magnetically permeable, injected into the formation to fracture the formation, and heated in response to electromagnetic radiation applied to the magnetically permeable material. In some embodiments, electromagnetically heated material is caused to explode. In some embodiments, the magnetically permeable material is tracked or monitored for fluid or fracture propagation. A system includes a fluid treatment tool (100, 200) disposed on a tubing string (118, 208, 318, 518) for injecting magnetically permeable material and an electromagnetic wave generator (300, 400, 500, 602, 702) disposed on the tubing string proximate the fluid treatment apparatus for applying electromagnetic radiation to the magnetically permeable material.
