    摘要: A weighing system includes a weighing pan connected to a rigid armature by a linkage in a manner constraining the armature to motion along a reference axis with respect to the housing. Another linkage couples the armature to a housing. A low friction damper is coupled between the weighing pan and the housing to damp the relative motion of the force input member and the housing. A force transducer, comprising a pair of complimentary opposed surfaces having a mutual separation which is related to the force across the transducer, is coupled between the armature and the housing. Coupled to the transducer is a position sensor which generates a signal representative of the separation between the complimentary opposed surfaces of the transducer.

    摘要: A position sensing and display means for use on a weighing scale includes two stationary spaced conductive plates to which out-of-phase oscillations are supplied. A movable conductive plate has a position between the two stationary plates dependent on the weight of an object being measured. The amplitude of the oscillations capacitively coupled to the movable conductive plate is displayed as an indication of the weight of the object.

    摘要: The invention relates to a load receiver comprising an upper plate 10 and lower plate 11, and a weighing mechanism located between them.The weighing mechanism is made of two half-beams 12 and 13 supported on pieces 128 and 138 hinged on one side with respect to the upper plate 10 and on the other side with respect to the lower plate 11. Connected at their center by an elastic strip 14 having a constriction 140, these beams receive a flection related to the load. This flection is transferred by arms 15 and 16 to electrodes 151 and 161 forming a capacitor. By measuring the capacity of the capacitor, the weight of the load is obtained. The invention is of use notably for flat bathroom scales.

    摘要: A device for sensing and measuring a transient load, such as a load imposed by at least one wheel on an axle of a passing vehicle, comprising a flexible and resilient mat formed of a dielectric and elastomeric material and adapted to be engaged by the load, and at least two vertically spaced capacitor electrodes embedded in and extending over substantially the entire operative area of the mat. The electrodes are connected to a device for detecting variations in the electrode spacing owing to transient loads. Void areas are located in the body of the mat to provide for mat deformation that is linearly proportional to the magnitude of the applied load. Preferably, the void areas are uniformly distributed in the mat and extend substantially from one of the electrodes to the other electrode.

    摘要: A device for indicating the weight of an object is disclosed herein and includes a first circuit for producing an oscillatory excitation signal which is capacitively coupled to a second circuit for producing at the output of said second circuit a signal indicative of the weight of said object. In this regard, the second circuit is capacitively coupled to the first circuit by a coupling plate mounted to a support member for movement in response to the weight of said object. This output signal is applied to an electromagnetic assembly which, in response thereto, applies to said coupling plate a proportional force which is equal and opposite to the gravitational force of the supported object for terminating movement of said coupling plate. In this manner, the output signal may be monitored for indicating the weight of said object.

    摘要: A method for operating a balance includes: (a) introducing an ion cloud into a weighing chamber to bring an electrostatic charge state of a weighing sample towards an electrostatic neutral state, (b) detecting the neutral state, and (c) acquiring measured values of a weighing sensor, calculating therefrom a final weighing value representing the electrostatic neutral state, and outputting the final weighing value. When the ionizer is activated, the measured values of the weighing sensor are acquired, preliminary weighing values are calculated from the measured values and the final weighing value is calculated and output after a number of preliminary weighing values have been recognized as stable. During a recognition phase, positive and negative ion clouds are alternatingly generated, and during a neutralization phase, only ion clouds of that sign are generated that, in the recognition phase, had led to the larger changes within the preliminary weighing values.
