    摘要: A waveguide connector for connecting an elliptical waveguide to a rectangular waveguide includes an elliptical-waveguide-receiving portion adapted to receive an end portion of an elliptical waveguide. The waveguide connector also includes a rectangular-waveguide-connecting portion adapted to connect to an end portion of a rectangular waveguide. After the end portion of the elliptical waveguide has been received in the elliptical-waveguide-receiving portion of the waveguide connector, the elliptical waveguide and the waveguide connector are soldered together. The rectangular-waveguide-connecting portion of the waveguide connector includes a flange with attachment points therein. The rectangular-waveguide-connecting portion of the waveguide connector is attached to a rectangular waveguide through the attachment points via screws, bolts, or the like. One embodiment of the waveguide connector includes unitary construction wherein a stepped transformer having transition sections is formed therewith.

    摘要: A connector assembly for a coaxial cable having an annularly corrugated outer conductor is provided. The connector assembly includes a first body member adapted to fit over the end of the coaxial cable and forming a series of apertures spaced around the circumference of the first body member near one end thereof. The connector assembly further includes a second body member that forms a clamping surface for engaging the inner surface of the corrugated outer conductor adjacent the last crest in the corrugated outer conductor. The connector assembly also includes multiple ball bearings seated in the apertures and captured between the first and second body members. A connecting means is provided for drawing and holding the first and second body members together so as to draw the clamping surface and the ball bearings against the inner and outer surfaces, respectively, of the outer conductor.In one embodiment, the ball bearings are larger than the apertures and are positioned on the outer surface of the first body member. The second body member forms a cam surface for engaging the outer portions of the ball bearings and urging the ball bearings into the apertures as the first and second body members are drawn together such that the inner portions of the ball bearings extend through the apertures and press against the outer surface of the outer conductor.

    摘要: An omnidirectional microwave antenna comprises a paraboloidal reflector disposed above the ground and facing downwardly with a substantially horizontal aperture and a substantially vertical axis. A vertically oriented feed horn is located below the paraboloidal reflector on the axis of the paraboloidal reflector and has a phase center located near the focal point of the paraboloidal reflector. A conical reflector having a shaped reflecting surface defined by the parameters of a mathematical equation extends downwardly away from the periphery of the feed horn for reflecting radiation received vertically from the paraboloidal reflector in a horizontal direction away from the conical reflector, and for reflecting horizontally received radiation vertically to the paraboloidal reflector. A radome extends downwardly from the outer periphery of the paraboloidal reflector and includes an absorber material for absorbing radiation propagated laterally from the feed horn and the conical reflector above the aperture of the feed horn.

    摘要: A multiple use, multi-band antenna for mobile wireless communication and global positioning has includes a elongated cellular radiating element and a GPS radiating element supported atop the cellular radiating element. The cellular radiating element has a continuous body portion of varying diameter that forms a flared upper portion which supports a global positioning system amplifier mounted thereon. The GPS amplifier unit takes the form of a GPS patch radiator disposed atop a low noise amplifier. The cellular and GPS radiating elements are fed by respective first and second feedlines. The stacking of the GPS amplifier unit on the cellular radiating element provides a top loading effect for the cellular radiating element that enables it to resonate across all pertinent cellular frequencies.

    摘要: A feed structure for transmitting or receiving microwave energy to or from a reflector includes a waveguide having an input section, intermediate section, and output section. The waveguide has an inner surface of generally rectangular cross section and an outer surface of generally circular cross section. The outer surface includes unique opposing convex surfaces which enables the waveguide to be bent with minimal resulting deformation of the internal rectangular surface. At least one locating surface is provided on the outer surface of the waveguide for determining the orientation of the waveguide. The input section of the waveguide has a threaded cylindrical surface adapted to be connected to a hub having a threaded interior bore which is connected to the reflector. A feed horn integral with the output section of the waveguide and having a circular output aperture is formed by machining the inner surface of the waveguide into a rectangular to circular transition. The intermediate section of the waveguide is curved so that the output aperture of the horn is directed toward the reflecting surface of the reflector, enabling waves transmitted from the aperture toward the reflecting surface to be reflected into space in the form of plane waves.

    摘要: A grounding kit for a transmission line cable having a portion of its outer jacket removed to reveal an exposed section of its conductor is set forth. The grounding kit includes a clip, a bail and a housing. The clip has a fulcrum portion and means for connecting the clip to a ground wire. The clip encompasses a part of the exposed section of the conductor. The bail includes a mounting element pivotably mounted on the fulcrum portion of the clip to permit rotation of the bail between an open position and a closed position. The handle contacts the clip and forces the clip into clamping engagement with the exposed section of the conductor in response to the bail being rotated to the closed position. The hollow housing has an opening at both ends and an exit port. The housing encompasses and seals the clip, the bail and the exposed conductor. The transmission line cable on either side of the exposed section exits the hollow housing through its end openings while the grounding wire exits the hollow housing through the exit port.
