Abstract: A communications network for communication between at least one power electronics element and at least one control unit is disclosed. At least one transmit/receive unit of the communications network is configured to receive at least one signal from an upstream direction, and evaluate if the at least one signal is correctly received. In case the at least one signal is correctly received, the at least one transmit/receive unit is configured to forward, in an allocated first time slot, the at least one signal to a plurality of transmit/receive units in a downstream direction, and receive, in an allocated second time slot, a plurality of signals from the plurality of transmit/receive units as a response of the forwarded at least one signal.

Abstract: An insulated gate power semiconductor device includes an (n-) doped drift layer between an emitter side and a collector side. A p doped protection pillow covers a trench bottom of a trench gate electrode. An n doped enhancement layer having a maximum enhancement layer doping concentration in an enhancement layer depth separates the base layer from the drift layer. An n doped plasma enhancement layer having a maximum plasma enhancement layer doping concentration covers an edge region between the protection pillow and the trench gate electrode. The N doping concentration decreases from the maximum enhancement layer doping concentration towards the plasma enhancement layer and the N doping concentration decreases from the maximum plasma enhancement layer doping concentration towards the enhancement layer such that the N doping concentration has a local doping concentration minimum between the enhancement layer and the plasma enhancement layer.

Abstract: A vehicle transformer has a transformer core with two opposed yokes and at least two limbs extending in between them along a parallel limb axis, wherein a support structure is provided at each of the yokes for carrying the vehicle transformer with horizontal oriented limb axis, wherein a hollow cylindrical coil with at least one respective electrical winding is arranged around at least one of the limbs. The coil may be rigidly connected with the limb so that the flexural resistance of the rigid combination of both is improved therewith compared to a combination of both without rigid connection.

Abstract: Among other things, one or more techniques and/or systems are provided for updating a model for generating a health profile of an industrial asset based upon data pertaining to the industrial asset. The health profile comprises a maintenance plan(s), which respectively comprise one or more recommended maintenance actions to be performed with respect to the industrial asset during a prediction period. The model may be periodically and/or intermittently updated based upon a comparison between the recommended maintenance actions and actual events of the industrial asset during the prediction period. Moreover, in some embodiments, different models may be selected for generating future health profiles of the industrial asset based upon a comparison between the recommended maintenance actions and actual events of the industrial asset during the prediction period.

Abstract: A method for detecting fault direction of a transmission line of an AC power system and a control system using the same. The method includes sampling current values and voltage values at one end of the transmission line for a series of time points; computing instantaneous voltage values at compensated point on the transmission line from the current value samples and the voltage value samples based on a time domain lumped parameter differential equation for the transmission line for the series of time points; recording the current value samples and the computed instantaneous voltage values at the compensated point; computing at least one voltage fault component each using the recorded computed instantaneous voltage values for at least the at least two of the series of time points; identifying the fault direction in consideration of the at least one computed voltage fault component and the at least one computed current fault component; and generating a fault direction signal indicating the identified fault direction. Where a fault directional element is designed using the voltage fault components at the compensated point, it will work well for the AC power system with strong power source.

Abstract: A transformer is disclosed. The transformer includes a first coil including a first stack of wire disks stacked in a first direction; an exterior barrier arranged to form a first air gap between outer sides of the wire disks of the first stack of wire disks and the exterior barrier; an interior barrier arranged to form a second air gap between inner sides of the wire disks of the first stack of wire disks and the interior barrier; a wind generator arranged to generate an air flow in the first direction; a core in the form of a cylinder that is surrounded by the first coil; and an air guiding plate fixed to one of the exterior barrier and the interior barrier, to guide the air flow in a second direction along first stack gaps between the wire disks of the first stack of wire disks. The transformer effectively improves the heat dissipation of the coil and thus allows a smaller transformer in size.

The disclosure also relates to an insulator 1 made from the filled SiR material 2, and to a use of the insulator in a high-voltage direct current application.

Abstract: Shatter protection for a high voltage apparatus with a ceramic insulator includes at least one electrically insulating tube including a plurality of holes going through an envelope surface. The electrically insulating tube has a diameter such that there is a minimum distance between the tube and the ceramic insulator when arranged concentrically. A method for producing a shatter protection includes winding a first helix shape of the electrically insulating fiber composite material at a first pitch such that there is a first gap between the winding turns, and winding a second helix shape of the electrically insulating fiber composite material onto the first helix shape in the opposite direction and at a second pitch, such that there is a second gap between the winding turns. Thereby forming a first electrically insulating tube with holes formed by the first and second gap between the winding turns.
