摘要: A Wireless mobile communication (WMC) device may maintain user preference information, which is unique to the WMC device capabilities and the device user. WMC devices located in near proximity of each other may be enabled to form an ad hoc wireless network wherein each WMC device within the network may function as a router for other devices. Utilizing such routing capability within an ad hoc wireless network may allow WMC devices that are out of their wireless coverage area to use other WMC devices within such ad hoc wireless network to route any impending communication through such other WMC devices wherein these devices may have wireless connectivity to their coverage networks. WMC devices that are may have external connectivity may be enable to be selective in routing information and/or data from other WMC devices in the ad hoc network.

摘要: A user's request via a portable or handheld wireless communication device (HWCD) to process data may result in discovery of one or more networked resources capable of handling the processing. One or more communication routes may be established between one or more discovered network resources and one or more of the HWCD and a networked terminating device. The portable HWCD may be configured as a gateway. The user's identity may be determined and the user's personal networking preferences may be acquired. Based user's preferences, a route may be established between discovered networked resources and one or more of the HWCD and the networked terminating device. The user's identity may be authenticated. Data may undergo rate and/or format conversion. The data may be protected by secure operations. One or more of the HWCD and the networked terminating device may consume or render the requested data.

摘要: An apparatus and method to use a gain control network across source terminals of cascode transistors that drive a differential current to control gain. The drains of the cascode transistors are coupled to a load such as a mixer. The cascode arrangement provides high impedance coupling to the load and the proximity of the gain control network allows offsets to be gain tracked to signal gain.

Aspects of the system may comprise an envelope detector that enables detection of an amplitude of an analog input signal. The envelope detector may enable computation of a first gain value based on the detection. A second gain value may be computed based on the first gain value. A PA may enable generation of an analog output signal based on the analog input signal, the first gain value and the second gain value.

摘要: A radio receiver is described that processes multiple wireless standards using a single antenna according to embodiments of the invention. The radio receiver includes a single antenna, and a low noise amplifier that is connected to the antenna, without an intervening power divider or power splitter. The output of the low noise amplifier feeds multiple wireless receivers in a parallel arrangement that are operating according to different communications standards, including for example a Bluetooth and a WLAN 802.11. Additional wireless standards and their corresponding receivers could be added as well. The input impedance of the low noise amplifier defines the impedance seen by the antenna, regardless of which operational standard is actually in use. Each signal path includes an additional low noise amplifier having a gain that can be customized for the particular signal path and receiver in use, and which also improves the reverse isolation between signal paths. Further, a switch can be added to one or more of the signal paths so as to further improve isolation when a particular path is not being used.
