    摘要: The inventive ablation element comprises an elongated cannula having a proximal end and a distal end. The cannula defines an internal lumen within the cannula and a cannula axis. A trocar point defined proximate the distal end of the cannula. A deflection surface positioned between the trocar point and the proximal end of the cannula, the deflection surface being configured and positioned to deflect, in response to axial movement of the stylets in a direction from the proximate end of the cannula to the distal end of the cannula, at least some of the stylets laterally with respect to the cannula axis in different directions along substantially straight paths, the paths defining an ablation volume.

    摘要: A reference-corrected ratiometric current sensing circuit for sensing a current flowing through a load and a power-controlling pass device includes a sense device, a sense resistor, and a variable reference current source for providing a varying reference current. The varying reference current is varied according to a ratio of the voltage across the sense device to the voltage across the pass device. The ratiometric current sensing circuit of the present invention is capable of accurate current sensing in spite of disparities that may occur between the voltages across the sense and the pass devices. In one embodiment, the variable reference source includes a transconductance amplifier circuit that provides an output current indicative of the voltage difference at its input terminals. Furthermore, the variable reference current source includes a translinear circuit that works with the transconductance amplifier circuit to implement the prescribed arithmetic operations to generate the varying reference, current. The ratiometric current sensing circuit of the present invention provides accurate current sensing for load conditions ranging from normal overload to a shorted load.

    摘要: A controller for limiting the current through a pass transistor is described herein that includes an NMOS control transistor coupled between the gate of the pass transistor and ground. The gate of the NMOS control transistor is coupled to a bootstrap circuit via a PMOS transistor. The PMOS transistor is turned on in the event of a current limit signal to momentarily apply the bootstrap voltage to the gate of the NMOS control transistor. This quickly turns on the NMOS control transistor to discharge the gate of the pass transistor, shutting off the pass transistor and terminating the high current situation. After the bootstrapped voltage has been shunted to ground, a reverse biased diode allows the gate of the NMOS control transistor to remain charged to keep the NMOS control transistor on. After the current limit situation has passed, the NMOS control transistor is switched off. Accordingly, short circuits in the load are quickly uncoupled from the remainder of the system by the fast reaction time of the NMOS control transistor.

    摘要: A method for writing to a bit of a non-volatile memory (50) by alternately applying programming and erase voltages to a control gate wordline of a memory cell. A write includes programming and erasing bits (30, 31, . . . , 32, 33) in the memory array (56). Upon completion of the write operation a verify erase (VE) indication and a verify program (VP) indication are provided to a memory controller (58), which then determines if multiple cycles are necessary. The configuration of the memory cell allows isolation of each bit in the memory array to avoid effects of writes to neighbor bits. According to one embodiment, a three transistor EEPROM is written by providing a high voltage to the drain select of the selected wordline, while providing a low voltage to the drain select of other wordlines. Programming and erase voltages are applied to the control gate wordline of the selected wordline in cycles until the write is complete.
