摘要: An intravascular catheter for peri-vascular and/or peri-urethral tissue ablation includes multiple penetrators advanced through supported guide tubes which expand around a central axis to engage the interior surface of the wall of the renal artery or other vessel of a human body allowing the injection an ablative fluid for ablating tissue, nerve sensing, nerve stimulation, or ablation by application of energy. The catheter can include a proximal handle for the advancement of guide tubes and penetrators.

摘要: At the present time, physicians often treat patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) using radiofrequency (RF) catheter systems to ablate conducting tissue in the wall of the Left Atrium of the heart around the ostium of the pulmonary veins. These systems are expensive and take time consuming to use. The present invention circular ablation system CAS includes a multiplicity of expandable needles that can be expanded around a central axis and positioned to inject a fluid like ethanol to ablate conductive tissue in a ring around the ostium of a pulmonary vein quickly and without the need for expensive capital equipment. The expansion of the needles is accomplished by self-expanding or balloon expandable structures. The invention includes centering means so that the needles will be situated in a pattern surrounding the outside of the ostium of a vein. Also included are members that limit the distance of penetration of the needles into the wall of the left atrium, or the aortic wall. The present invention also has an important application to ablate tissue around the ostium of one or both renal arteries, for the ablation of the sympathetic nerve fibers and/or other afferent or efferent nerves going to or from each kidney in order to treat hypertension.

摘要: A device is described for treating a nasal airway by modifying a property of a nasal tissue of or near a nasal valve of the airway, without using a surgical incision or an implant, to decrease airflow resistance or perceived airflow resistance in the nasal airway. Various embodiments include an elongate shaft, a bipolar radiofrequency delivery member extending from one end of the shaft, and a handle attached to the elongate shaft at an opposite end from the radiofrequency delivery member. The radiofrequency delivery member is sized to be inserted into a nose and configured to at least temporarily deform the nasal tissue and deliver radiofrequency energy. The radiofrequency delivery member includes two rows of protruding electrodes disposed on a tissue contact surface, and the device is configured to deliver radiofrequency energy from one row of electrodes to the other row of electrodes.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to an apparatus (1) for fractional treatment of skin tissue of a patient. The apparatus (1) comprises a handpiece with a housing, at least one first electrode (11) and at least one second electrode (15) located on a distal end of the handpiece and an energy source, which is connected to said at least one first (11) and said at least one second (15) electrode. The apparatus (1) is adapted for applying radio frequency (RF) energy to the tissue. The at least one second electrode (15) is arranged on a base plate (13) and the at least one first electrode (11) is or comprises a pin or a needle (11), in particular a microneedle, which penetrates the base plate (13) through a through hole (17). The apparatus (1) further comprises a vacuum chamber (9) behind the base plate (13) and inside of the housing of the handpiece, which is in fluid communication with the at least one through hole (17) provided in the base plate (13) for exerting attraction onto a surface (33) of the skin tissue towards the at least one first electrode (11) and towards the at least one second electrode (15), when the first electrode (11) and the at least one second electrode (15) is placed in proximity of or is touching the surface (33) of the tissue.

摘要: A system for deploying needles in tissue includes a controller and a visual display. A treatment probe has both a needle and tines deployable from the needle which may be advanced into the tissue. The treatment probe also has adjustable stops which control the deployed positions of both the needle and the tines. The adjustable stops are coupled to the controller so that the virtual treatment and safety boundaries resulting from the treatment can be presented on the visual display prior to actual deployment of the system.

摘要: Disclosed is a medical handpiece having a high frequency heating function. The medical handpiece includes: a needle unit including a needle holder installed outside a distal portion of a handpiece body portion and needles configured to protrude forward from the needle holder; a high-frequency generator configured to apply a high-frequency current to the needle to generate heat when the distal end of the needle is inserted into the epidermal layer; a drug delivery unit installed to deliver a drug to the needle; and a skin expansion member including a guide main body installed to protrude outward of the handpiece body portion and a pair of rotational expansion plates configured to expand a skin in both directions while rotating about a hinge shaft on both sides of a distal portion of the guide main body.
