    Abstract: A guard insert having a body and a guide. The body can include a top surface, an opposed bottom surface, and a plurality of side edges extending between the top and bottom surfaces and including a front side edge. The body can define a slot and a plurality of fastener-receiving openings. The slot can extend inwardly from the front side edge. The plurality of fastener-receiving openings can extend through the top and bottom surfaces, with each opening of the plurality of fastener-receiving openings being configured to receive a fastener. The guide can be securely received within the slot of the body. The guide can have an outer peripheral wall and an inner peripheral wall. The outer peripheral wall can have a shape complementary to the slot, and at least a portion of the inner peripheral wall can define a channel configured for receiving yarn.

    Abstract: A hanger for connecting a structural component to a wall having sheathing mounted thereon after the hanger is connected to the wall. The hanger includes a channel-shaped portion configured to receive a structural component. An extension portion extends from the channel-shaped portion and is configured to extend through the sheathing. A connection portion extends from the extension portion and is configured for attachment to the wall. The connection portion includes connector flanges configured to attach to a stud of the wall. The extension portion minimally disrupts the continuity of the sheathing to maintain the fire resistive rating of the sheathing.

    Abstract: A warping system for reducing tension in a plurality of yarn ends wound by the warping system onto a beam. The warping system minimizes the number of contact points as yarn is pulled off of yarn packages in a creel and wound onto the beam. After exiting a tube, yarn passes over a roller and an expansion comb before being wound onto the beam. The yarn extends between the roller and the beam substantially in a yarn plane. The yarn can contact the warping system at only one contact point between the roller and the beam.

    Abstract: A veneer tie for use in a wall to join a veneer wall to an inner wall. The veneer tie includes an attachment portion and an insertion portion. The attachment portion has a bent loop defining an opening configured to receive a fastener to secure the attachment portion to the inner wythe and a circumferential discontinuity located on the loop. The discontinuity has a width that is less than a width of the opening. The insertion portion is fixed to the attachment portion and extends in a direction transverse of the attachment portion. The insertion portion is configured for attachment to the veneer wall.

    Abstract: A holdown connection assembly for attachment to a form used to make a concrete foundation includes a holdown including an elongate plate member having an upper section with a plurality of holes sized and shaped to receive fasteners to attach the holdown to a wood frame member supported by the concrete foundation. A lower section extends from the upper section and is configured to be at least partially embedded in the concrete foundation when the holdown is attached to the wood frame member. A support is configured to be mounted to the holdown to attach the holdown to the form. The support includes a wire member engageable with the holdown for locating the holdown relative to the form when the support is mounted to the holdown and attached to the form.
