Abstract:
An apparatus includes a stereoscopic display region calculator calculating a stereoscopic display region to reproduce a three-dimensional positional relationship in image data displayed on a stereoscopic display device, based on two-dimensional or three-dimensional image data, a position of a target of regard of a virtual camera set in processing of rendering the image data, and orientations of the light beams output from the stereoscopic display device. The apparatus also includes an image processor performing image processing on image data outside a region representing the outside of the stereoscopic display region calculated by the stereoscopic display region calculator. The image processing is different from image processing on image data inside a region representing the inside of the stereoscopic display region. The apparatus also includes an image generator generating stereoscopic display image data from the two-dimensional or three-dimensional image data after processed by the image processor.
Abstract:
There is provided a field-sequential color displaying method capable of reducing color breakup with respect to an optional image without greatly increasing a sub-field frequency. The field-sequential color display method includes; time-sequentially displaying of luminous information of an input image information with every display color and changing the display color in synchronism with the displaying of the luminous information in order to display the input image information, wherein one frame period in which one color image is displayed includes at least four sub-field periods in which information of each color is displayed, and a picture signal displayed in at least one sub-field period is a non-three-primary color picture signal which is generated from at least two primary color signals of input picture signals including three-primary color signals.
Abstract:
A stereoscopic image producing method can produce a stereoscopic image efficiently. The stereoscopic image producing method includes inputting a plurality of parallax images with pixel data including information pieces about the three primary colors, which are produced from different viewpoints, and, based upon information about arrangement of color pixel dots constituting a pixel of a display screen which displays a two-dimensional image thereon, composing some pieces of the three primary color information pieces in each of the parallax images and allocating the three primary color information pieces for different ones of the parallax images to the color pixel dots adjacent to each other in a screen horizontal direction on the display screen, where a stereoscopic image including a plurality of different parallax image information pieces in a horizontal direction in a space in which the stereoscopic image is displayed is produced.
Abstract:
An image detection device having pixel electrodes arrayed in a matrix in an image detection area on one face of an insulating film. A shield electrode is disposed in the peripheral area on the outside the detection area, and a driving circuit for driving the pixel electrodes and wires connecting the pixel electrodes are provided on the other face of the insulating film. The driving circuit may be provided in the peripheral area. The wires disposed in the peripheral area are shielded by the shield electrode to prevent electrostatic breakdown even when a large current flows through a photoelectric converting film, thereby to improve reliability by preventing dielectric breakdown and to accommodate a large dynamic range of incident light.
Abstract:
Large size flat display panels are used in many technical fields, with television (TV) sets, personal computers (PCs) and advertising equipment. A multiple panel display device has been developed which employs a plurality of separate flat-surface display panel modules united by adhesion together into a matrix array of rows and columns. Juncture sections of the panels have non-displayable regions between adjacent ones of the panels. To avoid seam lines visible to the human eye, the seams are minimized in width. To this end, the peripheral ends of display panels are provided with a concave/projection configuration or gap for limiting excessive expansion of a sealing material used. This significantly reduces the width of such non-display region at the juncture section of neighboring display panels bonded together.
Abstract:
A liquid crystal display device includes a matrix array of picture elements formed on a plurality of tiled switching array substrates, a first substrate having pixel electrodes arranged in parallel on the picture elements, a second substrate having a counter electrode, and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The picture elements include first picture elements arranged on every column from both sides of a connecting boundary A-A' of the switching array substrates and second picture elements arranged alternately with the first picture elements, and have a black matrix for shielding a region between the adjacent picture elements. A plurality of data lines may be disposed collectively between the first picture elements. With the configuration as described above, a liquid crystal display device having high productivity, a large display screen and high display quality can be provided.
Abstract:
White opaque fixed films in a fixed section are arranged in a two-dimensional matrix. On each fixed film, a cyan transparent film, a magenta transparent film, and a yellow transparent film that constitute a pixel are placed. By electrostatic force, these transparent films are driven and placed under the fixed film of an adjacent pixel, thereby controlling the color of the pixel. To generate electrostatic force, the fixed film and transparent film are provided with electrodes and an insulating film is inserted between these two films. The consecutive reversing of the polarity of both electrodes enables the transparent film to move in parallel with the fixed section. To achieve half tone display and no power consumption in displaying a still picture, an electrostatic mechanical latch mechanism that stops the film still in motion is employed.
