    摘要: An algorithm for improving efficiency of data attachment points (DAPs) in a wireless access network (AN) is provided herein. By way of example, the algorithm can identify a serving access point (APs) coupling an access terminal (AT) to the wireless AN. A cost metric for the serving AP can be determined with respect to at least one data network access gateway (AGW) of the wireless AN. The cost metric can be compared with a similar cost metric of a current or default DAP assigned to the AT. If the cost metric of the serving AP is lower than the cost metric of the current/default DAP, the DAP can be re-assigned to the serving AP, minimizing wireless AN resource costs associated with the DAP.

    摘要: In accordance with one or more embodiments and corresponding disclosure thereof, various aspects are described in connection with providing shared scheduling request (SR) resources to devices for transmitting SRs. Identifiers related to the shared SR resources can be signaled to the devices along with indications of the shared SR resources in given time durations. Thus, devices can transmit an SR over shared SR resources related to one or more received identifiers for obtaining an uplink grant. This can decrease delay associated with receiving uplink grants since the device need not wait for dedicated SR resources before transmitting the SR. In addition, overhead can be decreased on control channels, as compared to signaling dedicated SR resources and/or uplink grants. Moreover, identifiers related to SR resources can correspond to a grouping of devices, such that a device can transmit over shared SR resources related to a group including the device.

    摘要: Techniques for maintaining an always-on data session for an access terminal are described. Messages to keep alive the data session may be sent using non-traffic channels to avoid bringing up traffic channels just to send these messages. In one design, an access network may send a first message (e.g., a RouteUpdateRequest message) on a first non-traffic channel (e.g., a control channel) to the access terminal. The access terminal may return a second message (e.g., a RouteUpdate message) on a second non-traffic channel (e.g., an access channel) to the access network. The access network may then send a third message (e.g., for an Echo-Request) on the first non-traffic channel over a smaller area covering an approximate location of the access terminal, which may be determined based on the second message. The access terminal may return a fourth message (e.g., for an Echo-Reply) on the second non-traffic channel to the access network.

    摘要: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate indicating a loss of channel quality on a component carrier of a plurality of component carriers. A UE can monitor configured component carriers to determine channel qualities associated therewith. The UE can transmit carrier quality information that includes the channel qualities of the plurality of component carriers. In addition, the UE can identify a component carrier experiencing a loss of channel quality and notify a base station of the component carrier with poor channel conditions. In one aspect, the UE can incorporate additional information into a scheduling request. In addition, the UE can generate a CQI report that contains the carrier quality information. Further, the base station, when a loss of channel quality occurs, can retry transmission on different carriers. Moreover, the base station can employ information provided by the UE when selecting a component carrier for a transmission.

An exemplary method includes determining a set of access points, as well as determining a set of PilotPN codes used by the set of access points. Detection is then made concerning whether at least two access points of the set of access points have conflicting PilotPN codes. A first PilotPN code is allocated to one of the at least two access points having conflicting PilotPN codes. Additionally, one or more other PilotPN codes, which are distinct from the first PilotPN code, are allocating to remaining access points of the at least two access points having conflicting PilotPN codes. Corresponding apparatus and other exemplary methods are also disclosed.
