    Abstract: A valve assembly for use in a fracturing pump including a valve member movable into and out of engagement with a valve seat body. The valve seat body includes an outer surface and an inner surface, the inner surface forming a fluid bore extending between a first end and a second end of the valve seat body. The body further includes a seating surface extending radially from the inner surface and facing the valve member, the seating surface having a recessed area. An insert is disposed in the recessed area forming at least a portion of the inner surface and at least portion of the seating surface. The valve seat body first end has a diameter different from a diameter valve seat body second. The difference between diameters allows the valve seat body outer surface to be supported by the fluid passageway.

    Abstract: A fluid cylinder for a reciprocating pump includes a body having inlet, outlet, and plunger bores. The inlet and outlet bores extend coaxially along a fluid passage axis. The plunger bore extends along a plunger bore axis that extends at an angle relative to the fluid passage axis. The body includes a crossbore at the intersection of the fluid passage axis and the plunger bore axis. The crossbore intersects the inlet, outlet, and plunger bores at respective inlet, outlet, and plunger bore ends. The inlet bore end and outlet bore ends are connected to the plunger bore end at respective first and second corners of the crossbore. The first corner includes a first linear bridge segment connected to the inlet and plunger bore ends by corresponding curved segments. The second corner includes a second linear bridge segment connected to the outlet and plunger bore ends by corresponding curved segments.

    Abstract: A monitoring apparatus is adapted to monitor lubricant in a hydraulic fracturing pump system, and includes a gateway and one or more sensors configured to be in communication with the gateway. The one or more sensors are configured to measure quality of the lubricant, a pressure of the lubricant, and a temperature of the lubricant. The gateway is configured to receive sensor data associated with the quality of the lubricant, the pressure of the lubricant, and the temperature of the lubricant. To monitor the lubricant, the gateway is configured to: store the sensor data on the non-transitory computer readable medium; transmit to another computing device the sensor data and/or representative data based on the sensor data; visually indicate a status of the quality of the lubricant; visually indicate a status of the pressure of the lubricant; visually indicate a status of the temperature of the lubricant; or any combination thereof.

    Abstract: A valve seat includes a generally cylindrical body that defines a bore extending axially therethrough and has an outer surface. An enlarged diameter portion extends axially from the generally cylindrical body and defines a shoulder surface and an annular surface disposed opposite the shoulder surface; the annular surface is configured to form a seal with a displaceable portion of a valve. An annular notch is formed in the outer surface of the generally cylindrical body, and it extends a distance from a shoulder surface. The annular notch decouples a stiffness of the enlarged diameter portion to thereby increase a radial compressibility of the generally cylindrical body. An annular channel is formed in the outer surface of the generally cylindrical body and is disposed axially below the annular notch. The annular channel is configured to receive a hydraulic fluid to compress radially the generally cylindrical body.

    Abstract: In one aspect, there is provided a damper control system for a reciprocating pump assembly according to which control signals are sent to electromagnets. In another aspect, there is provided a method of dampening vibrations in a pump drivetrain according to which a beginning of torque variation is detected and at least a portion of the torque variation is negated. In another aspect, signals or data associated with pump characteristics are received from sensors, torque characteristics and damper response voltages per degree of crank angle are calculated, and control signals are sent to electromagnets. In another aspect, a damper system includes a fluid chamber configured to receive a magnetorheological fluid; a flywheel disposed at least partially within the fluid chamber and adapted to be operably coupled to a fluid pump crankshaft; and a magnetic device proximate the flywheel. The magnetic device applies a variable drag force to the flywheel.
