Abstract: The present invention provides methods and compositions related to the discovery of molecules capable of both inducing an immune response to an antigen in a mammal and also effecting clearance of the antigen, with such molecules comprising a first moiety comprising an antigen binding portion which binds specifically to complement receptor 1 (CR1) and does not substantially bind to complement receptor 2 (CR2), linked to a second moiety which comprises the antigen or binds to the antigen. Methods of producing such molecules and their therapeutic and/or prophylactic uses are also featured.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a castable, aerogel-based, ultra-low thermal conductivity opacified insulation to suppress sublimation. More specifically, the present invention relates to an aerogel opacified with various opacifying or reflecting constituents to suppress sublimation and provide thermal insulation in thermoelectric modules. The opacifying constituent can be graded within the aerogel for increased sublimation suppression, and the density of the aerogel can similarly be graded to achieve optimal thermal insulation and sublimation suppression.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for a generator coil includes a plurality of stacked windings in a rotor where individual turns are stacked in parallel sided radial slots in the rotor. Each successive turn has the same width substantially corresponding to a constant width of each slot, wherein a first turn has a first thickness and a second turn has a second thickness thicker than said first thickness. The second turn is employed in regions of high temperature thereby reducing the temperature thereof.

Abstract: A portable signal transfer unit for relaying a signal representative of physiological data of a mammalian subject from a remote physiological sensor to a remote receiver unit. The portable transfer unit includes an input device which operably receives the signal, a memory for buffering the signal, and an output device which wirelessly transmits the signal to the remote unit. The signal transfer unit also includes a signal processor for relaying the signal from the signal input to the output device, wherein the signal processor has two or more receivers each receiver adapted to handle a specified signal carrier frequency. An indicator is also provided which indicates to the subject whether the signal transfer unit is within range of the remote unit to enable effective transmission of the signal from the signal transfer unit to the remote unit.
