摘要: An assembly for remotely manipulating a patient's spine. A compressor/distractor mechanism attaches to spinal anatomy or vertebral screws on adjacent vertebrae at a spinal surgical site on a patient's spine. A flexible cable is operatively connected to the compressor/distractor mechanism and to a control mechanism. The control mechanism manipulates the flexible cable, controlling the compressor/distractor mechanism to compress or distract the vertebrae. A rotatable surgical table with a remote control can be used in place of the compressor/distractor mechanism and the control mechanism. The rotatable surgical table can rotate the patient to place the spinal surgical site in a desired compressed or distracted position, and to place the patient in a desired orientation with respect to a horizontal reference plane. The assembly permits manipulation of the spine at the surgical site via a posterior approach, while the surgeon can also manipulate the spine at the surgical site via an anterior, lateral or oblique approach.

摘要: Provided is an implant configured to fit at or near a bone defect to promote bone growth. The implant comprises an oxysterol uniformly disposed in an acellular tissue matrix (ATM). The acellular tissue matrix can be porcine collagen, which in some cases is crosslinked. The implant can contain an acellular porcine crosslinked collagen in an amount of about 5 wt. % to about 25 wt. % of the implant and an oxysterol in an amount of about 5 wt. % to about 90 wt. % of the implant. The oxysterol can be Oxy133 monohydrate or an Oxy133 polymorph. Methods of making and using the implant are further provided.

摘要: A spinal implant package includes a sleeve defining a cavity extending through an end surface of the sleeve. A cap defines an aperture extending through an end surface of the cap. First portions of the end surfaces are joined to define a hinge. The end surface of the sleeve includes a second portion defining a first lip. The end surface of the cap includes a second portion defining a second lip. The package is movable between a closed configuration in which the first lip is adjacent the second lip and a portion of the spinal implant is enclosed within the cavity and the aperture, and an open configuration in which the first lip is spaced farther apart from the second lip and the portion of the spinal implant is positioned outside of the aperture while remaining positioned inside of the cavity.

摘要: A load sensing assembly for a spinal implant is disclosed. The load sensing assembly may include: a set screw having a drive interface, a lower cavity for receiving a cover, the cover including a protrusion that may engage with an anchoring member. The load sensing assembly may further include an antenna, and at least one sensor having an integrated circuit in communication with the antenna. In some embodiments, the integrated circuit is positioned within a sealed cavity of the set screw. In some embodiments, the antenna comprises a ferrite core and a plurality of windings that are oriented laterally with respect to a longitudinal axis of the set screw. In some embodiments, the sealed cavity of the set screw is hermitically sealed, and the antenna may be mechanically isolated by a bellows or cylindrical can structure.
