摘要: A wound healing composition is provided that includes a tissue adhesive or epithelial tissue healing agent and metal-modified cerium oxide nanoparticles (mCNPs). The nCNPs have a predominant 3+ surface charge and are in a range of about 3-35 nanometers (nm) in size and mixed in an amount that is in a range of about 0.01 to 0.1 weight percentage of a mixture having the tissue adhesive or epithelial tissue healing agent and the mCNPs. The metal (m) is a stable metallic metal with antimicrobial properties and non-ionizing. The mCNPs includes AgCNP2. A method is provided that uses the healing composition to treat a wound or epithelial tissue. The composition can be used to treat the skin or eye and/or subcutaneous tissue.

摘要: Disclosed herein are methods for improving a parameter of a protein-related process comprising providing a viscosity-reducing excipient compound selected from the group consisting of hindered amines, anionic aromatics, functionalized amino acids, oligopeptides, short-chain organic acids, and low molecular weight aliphatic polyacids, and adding a viscosity-reducing amount of the viscosity-reducing excipient compound to a carrier solution for the protein-related process, wherein the carrier solution contains a protein of interest, and carrier solutions comprising a liquid medium in which is dissolved a protein of interest, and a viscosity-reducing excipient, wherein the viscosity of the carrier solution has a lower viscosity that that of a control solution that is substantially similar to the carrier solution except for the presence of the viscosity-reducing excipient.

摘要: The present invention provides capsular polysaccharides from Streptococcus pneumoniae serotypes identified using NMR. The present invention further provides polysaccharide-protein conjugates in which capsular polysaccharides from one or more of these serotypes are conjugated to a carrier protein such as CRM197. Polysaccharide-protein conjugates from one or more of these serotypes may be included in multivalent pneumococcal conjugate vaccines having polysaccharides from multiple additional Streptococcus pneumoniae serotypes.

摘要: The invention provides a therapy for lysosomal storage diseases and glycogenosis by treatment with compounds that promote exocytosis, preferably lysosomal exocytosis.
