摘要： Systems and methods provide text messages for services. A service component provides service options to a handset's user interface, receives a service option selection, and provides a first text message to a server based on the selection. The service component receives a second text message from the server in response to the first text message and provides the second text message to the user interface. The service component may provide interactive voice response system service options to the user interface if an entered number is associated with a specified service. The service component may provide and receive text messages as short message service messages via a handset wireless paging channel. The service component may provide short message service messages to the user interface via an interactive voice response system message. The second text message may include a prompt for a request to occasionally receive the second text message.

摘要： A wireless video uplink system comprises wireless access systems and a reservation system. The reservation system receives a video uplink request that indicates a user, a geographic location, and a time period. The reservation system processes the video uplink request to select one of the wireless access systems that serves the geographic location. The reservation system determines if the selected wireless access system has available video uplink capacity during the time period, and if so, the system directs the selected wireless access system to provide the wireless video uplink to a wireless video device associated with the user during the time period. The selected wireless access system wirelessly receives video data over the video uplink from the wireless video device during the time period. The selected wireless access system also inhibits another video uplink attempt from another wireless video device during the time period.

摘要： A VoIP call signaling method including a codec selection mechanism that measures the effective data transmission rate and other network characteristics. In some embodiments, a proxy performs a network test between itself and both end terminals to quantify the quality of the link before notifying both of the endpoints the optimal codec they should use for a peer-to-peer call. In alternative embodiments, the proxy informs the endpoints of the network characteristics and allows the endpoints to negotiate the codec selection. The network test preferably identifies delay, bandwidth, jitter and packet loss rates.
