摘要: A system is provided comprising processor, memory, radio transceiver, and an application. The transceiver receives a first message containing a first source media access control address and a first destination address and associated with a first application type and receives a second message containing a second source address and second destination address and associated with the first application type, wherein the first and second destination addresses are associated with first and second members, respectively, of a physical wireless local area network. The application receives the first message, determines that the first message is associated with the first application type, confirms that the first source address is associated with the first application type, and based on the confirmation sends the first message to the first destination. The application receives the second message, determines the second address is not associated with the first application type, and does not forward the second message.

The server comprises a processor, a memory, and an application stored in the memory that, when executed by the processor, receives a progressively uploaded media stream from a remote electronic device. The application also converts the progressively uploaded media stream from a first format to a second format and buffers the converted media stream. The application also transmits the buffered converted media stream to a bridge into a media local area network based on a mapping of the remote electronic device to the media local area network, wherein the mapping is stored in the memory.

摘要: A system is provided comprising a first bridging device associated with a first internet protocol (IP) address having a radio transceiver receiving simple service discovery protocol (SSDP) messages from devices on a first media local area network (LAN), encapsulates and transmits the messages to a second address. The system also comprises a server associated with the second address receiving the messages from the first bridging device. Based on the messages, the server constructs a list of the devices on the first network. Based on a rule, the server forwards at least some of the messages received from the first bridging device to a third address. The system also comprises a second bridging device associated with the third address with a transceiver that receives the messages forwarded to the third address, decapsulates the simple service discovery messages, and wirelessly broadcasts the messages to devices on a second media local area network.

摘要: A method and corresponding device and system to provide a real-time call announcement to a called device. According to the method, a called device begins receiving call announcement media without having first engaged in session setup signaling to set up a session through which to receive the call announcement media. In normal operation, the device would disregard such incoming media, since no session has been set up for receiving the media. As disclosed, however, the device will also receive at about the same time a call setup request that seeks setup of the underlying call, and the device will treat its receipt of that call setup request as a key to allow playout of the call announcement media even though no session has been set up for receipt of the call announcement media. The called device will then play out the call announcement media as an announcement for the call.

摘要: System and methods are provided for handset diagnostics. A dialer component intercepts a connection request associated with an entered number, and determines whether the entered number is associated with a specified service. If the entered number is associated with the specified service, a service component presents service options on a user interface of the handset, receives a selection of at least one of the service options, determines handset data based on the selection, and wirelessly communicates the handset data to a server associated with the entered number. The service component may connect the handset to the entered number, wherein the server may promote providing the specified service based on the communicated handset data. Alternatively, the service component may send a message to the user interface to indicate that the server provides the specified service based on the communicated handset data.

The portable electronic device also transmits a request for a content from each of the user agents to a content source, the requests being transmitted substantially concurrently. The portable electronic device also receives a plurality of contents, each content associated with one of the user agents and each content formatted differently than the remaining contents. The portable electronic also presents one of the contents on the display, wherein the portable electronic device promotes concurrent downloading of a content in multiple formats from the content source.

摘要: A method to translate between Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) numbers and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) addresses without performing an address translation database lookup. A network gateway receives and translates a first endpoint identifier associated with a destination client device to a second endpoint identifier associated with the destination client device. The first endpoint identifier is either a PSTN number or a VoIP address comprising at least the PSTN number and a predefined suffix and the second endpoint identifier is the other of the PSTN number and the VoIP address. The network gateway translates the first endpoint identifier to the second endpoint identifier without performing an address translation database lookup, by either adding the predefined suffix to or removing the predefined suffix from the first endpoint identifier. The network gateway generates and transmits a second session initiation message containing the second endpoint identifier to facilitate establishment of the session.
