Abstract:
A method for a user equipment device includes receiving a reference signal from a desired transmitter and obtaining information about other, interfering transmitters whose signals are receivable by the user equipment. The information includes a reference signal sequence of reference signals transmitted by the other transmitters. The method also includes modeling interference caused by the reference signals of the other transmitters on the received reference signal when determining a channel estimate for a channel between the user equipment device and the desired transmitter.
Abstract:
Briefly, according to embodiments of the invention, there is provided a wireless communication system and a method to receive by a base station from a first mobile station a first chain of data symbols transmitted by at least two antennas and having a first transmit diversity, to receive from a second mobile station a second chain of data symbols transmitted by at least two antennas and having a second transmit diversity. Both first and second chains of data symbols are transmitted from the first and second mobile stations at the same time, modulated according to an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) scheme and encoded by a space time block codes scheme.
Abstract:
A method for communication includes receiving in a receiver signals, which include one or more dedicated reference signals and are transmitted from a transmitter over a communication channel in multiple blocks. The signals in each block, including the dedicated reference signals, are transmitted on a respective group of subcarriers over a respective time interval and are precoded using a respective precoding scheme that maps the signals onto multiple antenna ports of the transmitter. Two or more of the blocks whose respective precoding schemes differ from one another by no more than a predefined distance are identified. One or more parameters of the communication channel are estimated over the dedicated reference signals included in the identified blocks. The signals are decoded based on the estimated parameters.
Abstract:
A method for communication includes providing a first transceiver configured to communicate with a second transceiver over a bi-directional link having a first aggregation of frequencies that are assigned to carry first communication traffic in a first link direction from the first transceiver to the second transceiver and a second aggregation of frequencies that are assigned to carry second communication traffic in a second link direction from the second transceiver to the first transceiver. Communication feedback is transmitted from the first transceiver to the second transceiver communication feedback at an adaptive feedback rate. The feedback rate is determined so as to achieve a desired balance between the information carrying capacities of the first and second aggregations. An information carrying capacity of the second aggregation is controlled responsively to the communication feedback.
Abstract:
A method includes holding in a receiver a definition of a codebook including precoding matrices, and a definition of multiple sub-codebooks including different respective subsets of the precoding matrices in the codebook. A sub-codebook is selected in coordination with a transmitter, for use in a given time interval or frequency range. A Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) signal that is transmitted from the transmitter is received. Feedback is generated in the receiver based on the received MIMO signal. The feedback is indicative of one or more preferred precoding matrices, which are chosen from the selected sub-codebook and which are to be used in precoding subsequent MIMO signals in respective partitions of the given time interval or frequency range. The feedback is transmitted from the receiver to the transmitter.
Abstract:
A method in a communication system, in which multiple transmitters transmit respective messages to a receiver over a communication channel, includes allocating respective resources of the communication channel to the messages so as to cause, for each message, a respective likelihood of interference between the message and at least one other message to depend on a respective impact of the interference on an overall performance measure defined for the communication system. The messages are transmitted from the transmitters over the communication channel using the allocated resources.
Abstract:
Briefly, a wireless communication device having two or more different wireless radio frequency (RF) units operably coupled to a router by two or more respective buses. The router is able to route bit streams of radio frequency signals from a digital baseband unit to one of the two or more RF units via one of the two or more buses. A method for routing the bit streams is also provided.
