摘要： In some exemplary embodiments of the invention, a transfer function of a filter for a fractional-N sigma-delta modulator may be calculated to be optimized according to predefined optimization criteria. For example, the optimization criteria may include spectral cleanliness at the output of the modulator, or the mean squared error of the input to the filter and the input to a voltage controlled oscillator of the fractional-N phase locked loop (PLL). In some exemplary embodiments, the filter may be adjusted to compensate for variations and/or impairments in the analog fractional-N PLL. A non-exhaustive list of examples for the transfer function includes a finite impulse response and an infinite impulse response.

摘要： A multi-user detector for use in a CDMA receiver system includes a channel tap interpolator to generate interpolated channel taps for users of interest. The interpolated channel taps occur at integer multiples of a chip period from a sampling reference point. The channel tap interpolation allows detection processing to proceed in the chip domain, rather than in the sample domain, thus reducing the complexity of the multi-user solution significantly. In at least one approach, a number of low dimensionality “virtual” users are defined based on the recursive property of the spreading sequences. Solutions may then be developed for the virtual users using conventional detection (e.g., MMSE) techniques.

Information related to processing one or more of the component carriers is buffered in at least one shared buffer, such that storage locations in the shared buffer are selectably assignable for storing at least first information related to the processing of the first component carrier and second information related to the processing of the second component carrier. The one or more of the component carriers are processed in the receiver using the information buffered in the shared buffer.

摘要： A system to decode a multirate CDMA signal. In one aspect the system includes a high rate detector to generate high rate outputs based upon decoding an input signal that includes high rate users and low rate users. The high rate outputs include actual high rate users and effective high rate users. A second stage applies a first linear transformation to the high rate outputs to generate second stage outputs. A third stage applies a second linear transformation to the second stage outputs to generate decoupled low rate user outputs and decoupled actual high rate user outputs.
