    摘要: Wireless communication device tuning an antenna matching circuit to favor a receive band efficiency over a transmit band efficiency in an acquisition state. Systems and methods are provided that increase the antenna efficiency in the receive band when the wireless communication device is searching for a synchronization message in order to acquire a communication channel. The antenna efficiency may be changed incrementally or may be optimized completely for the receive frequency. The increase in antenna efficiency in the receive band is accomplished by tuning the antenna matching circuit. One way to tune the antenna matching circuit is to apply a voltage to a ferro-electric capacitor in the matching circuit, thereby changing the capacitance of the ferro-electric capacitor, thereby changing the impedance of the matching circuit.

    摘要: A system and method are provided for efficient push-to-talk (PTT) communications in a cellular network of wireless telephones. The method comprises the steps of: receiving a PTT session initiation in a cellular wireless telephone network; identifying a plurality of common PTT session mobile stations in close proximity as a group; assigning a shared forward link channel to the group; and transmitting a PTT statement on the shared channel via the forward link. The shared channel can be a shared traffic channel or a common channel, such as a broadcast channel, forward common control channel, or paging channel. The shared forward link channel may be in either a circuit-switched or IP packet data system. Further, the shared forward link channel, in addition to including a shared forward fundamental channel, may also include a shared forward supplemental channel.

    摘要: Briefly, the location capable mobile handset allows the user to provide a call recipient with the location of an unsuccessful attempted emergency call. In one specific example, the call may be an E911 call to a PSAP dispatcher, however, it will be appreciated that the call may be to request assistance from a family member, or friend. Additionally, the call may be to a towing service. The call could be any call that a mobile handset user wants to send location information to the party that has been called. Returning to the E911 call example, the location information reported to dispatcher can include the location of initial E911 call, current location during a successful E911 call, or ground track information from the initial location to the current location. When an E911 call is unsuccessfully attempted the mobile handset stores the location of the mobile handset at that time. This information can later be transmitted when the mobile handset is in a coverage area. Additionally, the mobile handset can auto-dial 911 upon entering a service area after an unsuccessful E911 attempt. Alternately the user can be prompted to initiate an E911 call when the mobile handset enters a service area.

    摘要: The methods and systems discussed herein describe a first wireless communication device forwarding a first reservation signal, which identifies one or more time-slots that have been reserved by a second wireless communication device, to avoid “merging collisions.” In some examples, the first wireless communication device also receives a second reservation signal from a third wireless communication device, which identifies at least one time-slot that is the same as a time-slot that was identified in the first reservation signal. The first wireless communication device transmits a forwarded reservation signal that identifies the time-slots reserved by whichever of the second wireless communication device and the third wireless communication device has higher priority data to transmit. In other examples, the first wireless communication device transmits the forwarded reservation signal if a received power value of the first reservation signal is within a pre-defined received power range.

    摘要: A first user equipment (UE) device receives a configuration for a first timer from a base station that is serving the UE device. The first UE device also receives a recommended bitrate from the base station. The recommended bitrate is to be used for a Voice over Long-Term Evolution (VoLTE) call or a Video over Long-Term Evolution (ViLTE) call between the first UE device and a second UE device. The first UE device activates the first timer in accordance with the configuration. The first UE device is prohibited from transmitting a bitrate query to the base station while the first timer is running. Upon receiving a recommended bitrate that is below a Guaranteed Bit Rate for the call between the first UE device and the second UE device, the first UE device stops the first timer and transmits a bitrate query to the base station.
