    摘要: An information display apparatus which has a liquid crystal display which uses chiral nematic liquid crystal with a memory effect and can be driven by a matrix driving method. The screen of the display is divided along a scanning line into a still picture display area and a motion picture display area. The information display apparatus may have a first display and a second display on one screen. The first display is a reflective type liquid crystal display with a memory effect, which has an advantage of saving energy, and is used exclusively to display a still picture. The second display is a liquid crystal display which requires only a short time for writing. Information to be written in a short time, such as inputted information, is displayed on the second display.

    摘要: The disclosed herein is an information display apparatus having first and second liquid crystal displays on a common support plate. Each of the liquid crystal displays includes a plurality of pixels defined by a plurality of scanning electrodes and a plurality of signals electrodes. The scanning electrodes of the first liquid crystal display are respectively connected to the scanning electrodes of the second liquid crystal display so that both of the liquid crystal displays are commonly and simultaneously scanned by a scanning driver commonly provided to the liquid crystal display.     摘要: In an inkjet printer, an intermediate pulse having a small amplitude is applied in the vicinity of the mid point of the driving cycle of a piezoelectric element, in other words, in the time period from the start of application of a main pulse corresponding to a single printed dot until the start of application of a main pulse corresponding to the next printed dot. The intermediate pulse having such a small amplitude can prevent a wave which results in variations in printed dots in ink in an ink channel from being generated by the main pulse. As a result, an inkjet recording apparatus capable of maintaining picture quality without increasing the load during driving the piezoelectric element can be provided.

    摘要: The ink supplying port of the ink cartridge is shielded by an elastic film having a plurality of holes of a size that ink cannot pass therethrough without extending the film. On the ink cartridge connecting portion, a pressure member is provided which, under the condition that the ink supplying port is attached to the ink cartridge connecting portion, pressurizes and extends the elastic film to enlarge the holes to the size that ink is able to pass therethrough and to supply the ink in the ink cartridge to the ink cartridge connecting portion. With such an arrangement, when the ink cartridge is accommodated in the accommodating space of the carriage, the elastic film is pressurized by the pressure member to supply ink. In a state that the ink cartridge is detached, the elastic film is not extended, and thus permeation of ink is prevented.
