A low-cost contact detection sensor and contact detection method for easily detecting a contact by a third party is provided. A contact detection sensor comprises an antireflection structure including structure elements having a predetermined shape which are put in an array periodically at a pitch smaller than a wavelength of visible spectrum; and a substrate including the antireflection structure in at least a part of a surface portion thereof. The antireflection structure distinguishes whether the detection target is contacted by a human body or not based on a change in reflectance which occurs to an area of the detection target contacted by the human body when the detection target is contacted by the human body.

The invention relates to properly protecting broadcast contents stored on a receiver side from copying without permission and illegal use in server type broadcasting. According to the invention, contents are sent from a broadcast sending side in a state in which copyright information for the contents is added to the contents. On the other hand, on a receiving client side applicable to server type digital broadcasting, it is possible to perform appropriate control for reproduction of contents and recording reservation on the basis of copyright information for contents such as the number of times of reproduction of contents, restriction of display resolution at the time of reproduction of contents, and an expiration date of content reproduction. According to this copyright information, it is possible to perform detailed control for a display device incorporated in or connected to a receiver.

The image processing unit performs reprocessing of the input image in accordance with the image-related information that the search unit read in response to the instruction for reprocessing the input image. A reprint, on which an image whose color and density are preferably in agreement with those of the image reproduced on a simultaneous print is reproduced, can be stably output with a simple manipulation.

This invention provides carbohydrate absorption inhibitor derived from evening primrose seed which is significantly effective to prevent and cure diabetes mellitus and prevent obesity, and the manufacturing method of the same.Carbohydrate absorption inhibitor in this invention is characterized that the effective component is an alcohol extract of evening primrose seed. The aforementioned evening primrose seed is preferably a defatted evening primrose seed. Extracting solvent of the aforementioned evening primrose seed is preferably ethanol, or preferably a 70 to 85% (v/v) aqueous ethanol. Also, this invention is characterized that the carbohydrate absorption inhibitor is an effective component of polyphenol derived from evening primrose seed. The polyphenol is preferably one or more substances selected from among gallic acid, ellagic acid, catechin, pentagalloylglucose, procyanidin, and proantocyanidin. The manufacturing method of the carbohydrate absorption inhibitor in this invention is characterized to be composed of the following processes A to C. Process A: evening primrose is compressed, oil is separated then the compressed cake is obtained. Process B: The aforementioned compressed cake is defatted in fat-soluble organic solvent, and defatted substance is obtained. Process C: The aforementioned defatted substance is extracted by alcohol, and then this extracted liquid is concentrated or evaporated.

A controller driver for a fluorescent display unit for use in a display system is connected to a host micom which controls operations of the display system and to a display unit. The controller driver comprises an interface, a decoder, a display RAM, an electrode driver, a controller and a clock generator. The interface transfers data from/to the host micom. The decoder identifies and divides the data received from the interface into command data and display data. The display data includes anode data and grid data and the electrode driver includes therein an anode driver and a grid driver. The display RAM stores the display data received from the decoder. The electrode driver actuates the display unit by using the command data and the display data. The controller sets a driving mode and a display mode by using the command data, retrieves the display data and provides the display data to the electrode driver. The clock generator provides timing signals for the interface, the decoder, the anode driver, the grid driver, the display RAM and the controller to coordinate operation timings thereof. The anode data and the grid data are provided to the anode driver and the grid driver, respectively, according to a predetermined timing address.

After execution of pre-scan has been completed, in a set-up portion, a normal-processing parameter and a correction-processing parameter are set for each of a plurality of image processing. The device also corrects the color balance of the image based on the determinations. In addition, the device may also estimate grey balance of an image based on data from a plurality of images recorded under substantially uniform conditions. The device may correct the color balance based on the estimated grey balance.

Regarding each element, the positive vector is increased by an absolute value of a difference between the input pattern vector and the standard pattern vector if the input pattern vector is greater than the standard pattern vector, and the negative vector is increased by the absolute value if the input pattern vector is less than the standard pattern vector. A difference of a kurtosis between the positive vector and the negative vector is calculated, wherein a center of the reference shape is relatively moved to a position of each element of the positive and negative vectors respectively at every calculation. A geometric distance value between the standard pattern vector and the input pattern vector is obtained by calculating a square root of a sum of a square of each kurtosis difference.
