摘要： A user adaptive system in a computer system executing an application program. The user adaptive system includes a storage area for storing therein a data structure corresponding to a combination of values for parameters to be arbitrarily set by a user for a job to be executed in the application program, a storage area for updating the combination of values in the structure, each time a parameter setting operation is conducted by the user, and a storage area operative, when a particular combination of values for the parameters is used more than a predetermined number of times, for registering the particular combination of values for the parameters.

摘要： An information processor, which manages operational history data or status data to revert an application back to any desired point in the past or make use of the past operations, includes an interface screen having cards thereon, as objects, that are manipulated by a user so as to make use of history. Contents of the history are represented while the order of the cards, placed one upon another, is associated with the time series of the history. A card representation is provided on the screen presented by the application to the user at any point in a past or to provide a card representation defined by images which alternately display screen representations before and after a change in the application screen by the operation performed by the user at any point in the past, while the before-change and after-change representations are displayed for different periods of time. A tag provided to the card is incorporated in the interface screen and objects of stacks, where a bundle of cards arranged according to the time series of the card history is placed and to which instructions as to a user's operation performed on the card bundle are inputted, are incorporated on the user's interface screen. The stack cooperates with the application by letting the application execute an operational history corresponding to a card sequence on the stack and letting the results be represented on the cards; and the card sequence is inserted into the stack in conjunction with the application; thereby, letting the application execute the operational history.

摘要： A digital signal processor for determining the maximum and minimum values of a plurality of data items wherein operations of an arithmetic logic unit and data memories are controlled by micro-instructions, including a device for decoding specified bits of an operand of the micro-instruction, a device for detecting a value of a condition code which has been designated by an output of the decoding device, and a control device for executing a logical operation between the output of the detection device, which becomes "1" if the value of the condition code is true, and a decoded value of an operation code of the micro-instruction and to generate a control signal for the arithmetic logic unit on the basis of a result of the logical operation.

摘要： A processor comprises first and second operation units, a first program memory which contains first microinstructions for controlling the first operation unit and second microinstructions for controlling at least the second operation units, a second program memory which contains microinstructions for controlling the second operation unit, first control means connected to the first program memory for controlling the first operation unit and the second operation unit, and second control means connected to the second program memory for controlling the second operation unit. In a normal mode, all operation units are under control of the first control means and in a multiprogram mode, the first operation unit is under control of the first control means and the second operation unit is under control of the second control means. These two mode operations are selected in accordance with the microinstructions stored in the first or second program memories.

摘要： An electrostatic display device includes an insulative base, a substantially transparent fixed electrode mounted on the base, a substantially transparent dielectric layer such as silicon dioxide applied on the outer surface of the fixed electrode, a resilient sheet electrode fixed at one end thereof to the base and extending therefrom adjacent to the fixed electrode, a means for applying a voltage between the fixed electrode and the sheet electrode, and a display placed on or behind the inner surface of the fixed electrode. When there is no voltage between the fixed and the sheet electrodes, the display is visible through the transparent fixed electrode and the dielectric layer, whereas upon applying a voltage between the fixed and the sheet electrodes, the sheet electrode is attracted to and covers the outer surface of the fixed electrode, thereby concealing the display. The fixed electrode preferably comprises a transparent glass mold having a layer of an electrically conductive material such as stannic oxide chemically vapor-deposited on the outer surface thereof.
