摘要: An ink jet head includes: a pressure chamber that stores an ink and has an orifice; a filter plate including a through hole portion and a filter portion, the through hold portion disposed separately from the filter portion with a certain gap; a supply unit that supplies the ink through the filter portion to the pressure chamber; and a jetting unit that jets ink droplets through the orifice from the pressure chamber. The filter portion is formed to have a first aperture ratio. At least one through hole is formed on the through hole potion so that the filter portion has a second aperture ratio. The first aperture ratio is smaller than the second aperture ratio.

摘要: A single dot on a recording medium is formed by dots of a plurality of ink droplets ejected from different orifices 201 of a head 107. For example, four dots are formed overlapping one on the other to form a single dot. In order to suppress unevenness in ink density of a recording image due to undesirably shifted impact positions of these dots, impact positions of the dots for the single dots are shifted to the right and left on purpose by ¼-dot-worth of distance for each, that is, ½-dot-worth of distance in total. This printing method has a good effect on controlling noise element, which has a high special frequency and causes uneven ink density.

摘要: To eliminate influence of cross-talk in an on-demand multi-nozzle ink jet head, drive pulses to be applied to piezoelectric elements for driving nozzles aligned in a row are individually adjusted so that the nozzles eject ink droplets at the same speed when the nozzles are driven simultaneously. To the piezoelectric elements which are deactuated during printing, a dummy drive pulse having a voltage level in a range from 50 to 75% of a minimum voltage for ejecting an ink droplet is applied, whereby the ejection speed achieved when individual nozzles are driven approaches the ejection speed achieved when all nozzles are driven simultaneously. As such, the print quality is improved.

摘要: A portable liquid purifying device for dispensing a liquid, which includes a squeezable bottle made of a soft material and containing a mass of the liquid, a filtering member removably engaging a bottleneck of the bottle, and a cover assembly for covering a spout formed through the filtering member so as to fluid-tightly close the spout. The filtering member has a first section which accommodates activated carbon, and a second section which accommodates a micro-porous membrane filter including hollow fibers, the first and second sections being disposed in series so that the liquid delivered out of the bottle passes through the first and second sections in this order. The filtering member is fluid-tightly and air-tightly attached to the bottleneck such that the filtering member does not protrude past the bottleneck. The cover assembly has a first position for fluid-tightly closing the spout, and a second position for opening the spout so as to permit the liquid to flow out of the device.

摘要: A coin selector for use in a coin mechanism of vending machines and the like is disclosed. The coin selector includes a device which determines whether a deposited coin is real or fake, and a movable gate which selectively conducts the deposited coin into a real coin chute or a fake coin chute in response to an operational result of the determining device. A detector is positioned upstream of the entrances to the real coin chute and the fake coin chute, and outputs an electrical signal which is dependent upon the position of the gate and the moving condition of the coin as it passes by the detector. The coin selector further includes a judging circuit which receives the output from the detector and determines whether the gate is in position to conduct the coin into the real coin chute or the fake coin chute. The judging circuit independently determines, based on the assumption that the gate is position to conduct the coin into the real coin chute, whether it can be concluded that the coin was in position to go into the real coin chute. If it is determined both that the gate was in position to conduct the coin into the real coin chute and that the coin was in position to be so conducted, the judging circuit outputs a signal indicating that the coin went into the real coin chute.

摘要: A thermal fixing device including a pair of rotating rollers which are press-contacted to each other, a heating section associated with at least one of the rollers and an image supporter having an unfixed toner image which is passed through a gap between the rollers so that the unfixed toner image is thermally (melt) fixed, the heating section having an integral structure type heating and cooling device which includes a cooler and a heater acting as a support, and wherein the fixing device further includes a thin endless metal belt which rotates while contacting the integral structure type device and which has a non-adhesive film on the outer surface of the belt, and a drive roller which drives the endless metal belt for rotation while applying tension to the endless metal belt. The surface temperature at a portion where the endless metal belt is in pressure-contact with the image supporter is first increased to a temperature (Tm) near the melting point of the toner and then cooled so that the image supporter can be stripped prior to the endless metal belt, and so that the temperature is higher than the glass transition point of the toner and lower than the softening point of the toner.
