The window sash includes of elongated profiled polymeric members interconnected by weld seams at joints therebetween. The window sash is adapted to be mounted in a frame. Holes are provided in contact with the weld seams interconnecting the elongated profiled polymeric extruded members for distributing, at least partially, stress sustained by the window pane and the window sash when subjected to shocks, so as to prevent at least one of the weld seams, the elongated profiled polymeric extruded members and the window pane from cracking.

    摘要: A developing apparatus includes a developing container for containing a developer therein. A developing carrying member, provided in an opening portion of the developing container, for developing an electrostatic image on an image bearing member, the developer carrying member having a rubber layer and a surface layer on the rubber layer. A seal member is provided in the opening portion for preventing leakage of the developer from an end portion of the opening portion.     摘要: A screen has a screen main body, a power supply and a voltage regulator. The screen main body has a Fresnel lens, a polymer dispersed liquid crystal unit and a lenticular lens. The liquid crystal unit includes a polymer dispersed liquid crystal and a pair of transparent electrodes which sandwich the polymer dispersed liquid crystal. By operating the voltage regulator, a voltage applied to the electrodes is adjusted so that a gain of the liquid crystal is controlled.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display device includes: a liquid crystal spatial modulating element holding a liquid crystal layer between a pair of parallel substrates, wherein transmission of light incident upon the liquid crystal layer along an incidence direction tilted to a predetermined direction from a normal to the substrates takes a local minimum as a voltage applied to the liquid crystal layer is changed, and the voltage at the local minimum changes as the incidence direction is changed; an illumination optical system for supplying illumination light generally over a whole surface of the liquid crystal spatial modulating element along incidence direction or directions tilted to the predetermined direction; and a driver circuit capable of applying a voltage across the liquid crystal layer, the voltage being generally equal to a voltage which provides the local minimum of the transmission with respect to the illumination light. The liquid crystal display device has uniform display characteristics over a display screen.

    摘要: A display device includes a reflective type polarizer, a light valve, an analyzer, a mirror, and a polarization rotating film. The polarizer allows a first polarized light to pass therethrough and a second polarized light to be reflected thereby. The second polarized light is then reflected to the polarizer by the mirror, and the vibrating plane of the second polarized light is rotated by the polarization rotating film, so that the second polarized light can pass through the polarizer. The polarizer is inclined to an optical axis of the device. The mirror is arranged near the light source. This principle is also applied to a projection type color display device. In addition, a polarized light source including a lamp, a reflector, a polarizer, a mirror, and a polarization rotating film is disclosed.
